Gase was fired on Black Monday, but he may not be unemployed for long. The innovative offensive architect never found his footing in Miami, going 23-25 as a head coach and ostracizing players like Jarvis Landry in the process. He was hamstrung by a low-octane lineup, but still managed to push Ryan Tannehill into a handful of strong performances — all three of Tannehill’s three-touchdown games ended in Dolphin wins this fall. Any team looking to ride the NFL’s rising tide of scoring while developing a young quarterback could put Gase at the top of its list this winter.

The laughable Jete picked the ONLY clod that could possibly alienate their roster within a season. Must be part of the "100 Year Masterplan". Jeezus, I almost drove off the road earlier tonight when this story broke...immediate guffaws from both stations in southern N.E.
HOW do they sell this to the fans? How will Mehta get all that fresh horsesh!t he's been spewing about McCarthy off his bug-eyed face? Can't wait for the green rumpswab, Serby, to log in with his take tonight on the NY Post....THIS is the candy we've all become so addicted too.
I'll bet Gase's wife wrote that endorsement -- word is she enjoys shopping with credit cards for expensive clothes and jewelry. No way it was anyone who knows football.“Low-octane lineup” in Miami? Then WTF is he getting now?

Now the pathetic Jete have the third overall pick in the draft WITHOUT having tanked and WITHOUT parting with extra draft picks to get there. What should they do with it? They have NO CHOICE but to draft a quarterback! They will be in position to snag the BEST college signal caller in the entire draft, with only the Cardinals and 49ers ahead of them already set at QB. If they think Dam Darnit is the answer (he isn't) and pass up this golden opportunity to land a genuine franchise quarterback, they will regret it for many years to come.
You're right -- they probably won't take a QB with that pick, but they should swallow their pride and do it. It's an incredibly unique opportunity.Wow. Wow. Wow.
What an amazing waste of picks that was last year.
They won't pick a QB because that would simply be an indictment of last year's mistake.
If they don't get close to the same value back in a trade as they gave up for the darn-it pick they'll get roasted.
They'll probably save face and pick a kicker.

It will be interesting to compare/contrast the '19 QB draft class with how Darnit fares.Of course they won’t. Darnold picked the coach, so they’d be losing their GM too.

Who told Mehta that? Johnson and Maccromagnon? This is a cringeworthy tweet:

Gase is expected to bring Dowell Loggains along as his Offensive Coordinator, fresh off coaching the 26th ranked DVOA unit in the NFL. In 2017, he was the Bears Offensive Coordinator for the league’s 26th ranked unit…a unit that improved substantially when he left.
