Jets Hiring Adam Gase as new HC

McCarthy would be an excellent choice for the Jets: with all that young Talent plus Draft picks and $$$$$$.
What talent? Adams?

This could be a really good hire for the jets.

It all comes down to how much input over personnel McCarthy has?

A nice safe hire, sometimes not taking the gamble is the right thing to do.

Maybe he just likes how he looks in green??

He’s not a bad coach, but the Jets need someone who comes in, demands full control, and essentially tells the organization it’s his way or the highway. McCarthy is going to get eaten alive by that idiotic, dysfunctional organization and the N.Y. pressure/press. He couldn’t even survive the small time Wisconsin press and a power struggle with one player.

Yep, he’s in for a heck of a time. I’d tell him to keep a napkin on stand by

One time a girl told him he looked good in green and it became a weird obsession.
He must know that he’d end up looking like Andy Reid if he wore red.

He doesn’t want to be the ketchup ‘n mustard guy.

Should have given him cupcakes, and put his picture on the big screen.

It was not a winning strategy; so I wonder why they didn't stick to it.

https://nypost.com/2019/01/08/why-the-jets-coaching-search-just-got-more-urgent/ says:
So far the Jets have interviewed: Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, former Dolphins coach Adam Gase, former Packers coach Mike McCarthy, Cowboys defensive passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard, former Lions and Colts coach Jim Caldwell, Monken, Kingsbury and Baylor coach Matt Rhule (reported by CBS).

Coaches have started to come off the board, which may give the Jets a little urgency. The Packers (Matt LaFleur), Cardinals (Kingsbury) and Buccaneers (Bruce Arians) all have made hires in the past two days. Only Kingsbury was a candidate for the Jets job. As hires are made, the pool of assistant coaches thins. Coaches hired late in the cycle sometimes have a difficult time building good coaching staffs.

Da Jete need to get moving...

They had the obvious choice, McCarthy, in house and he left without signing.

Maybe he wanted more power and/or money than da Jete were willing to give?

Maybe he wanted the right to fire McCagnon?

Multiple reports say Mccarthy and Jets hashing out the details on a pact.

Thoughts.
What and where are the multiple reports? Please do not create these new threads on coaching moves without links.

0 concerns if they shake hands.

McCarthy has shown he is not a creative offensive mind and not able to make in game adjustments. He does have experience and have been in a winning environment for several years but that's it. Packers offensive game plan was Aaron Rodgers making throws only he can make and that's it.

 You don't know the Jete.

Lombardi (or a clone) would take one look at the state of the league, and retire. No way would a guy like Vince deal with that.
Maybe you should retire as a fan. You've got one step out the door already anyway, wasting five months every year looking forward to the off season.

He's not elite, but he's a pretty solid coach and will definitely help the Jets. This move would make it harder for the Pats to win the AFC East for sure.

Reports seem to be premature could happen but other coaches in play as well.
