I agree. I thought Miami made a big mistake by letting him go. He did about as well as any coach could with Tannehill at QB. With Gase & Darnold, the Jets are actually well positioned for life after TB12.

With all of this talk about the QBs that Gase has developed, please help me out with this. Who exactly has he developed? He had Peyton Manning in Denver, who was already a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame when Gase got there. Jay Cutler and Ryan Tannehill are the other feathers in this guy's cap? Maybe the guys in Detroit (Kitna, O'Sullivan, and Orlovsky) or maybe Shaun Hill and Jamie Martin in San Francisco?

This is the QB guru we hired, rather than the guy who developed Aaron Rodgers into a perennial MVP candidate.

Gase made a huge mistake. I think he can be a good head coach. He needed to reflect and spend time as an OC before jumping back in. The Jets have a horrible situation that chews good people up and spits them out. There will not be a 3rd chance.
