Flores and Broncos not likely to happen?

Look the reality is a lot of guys are getting “interviews” only because of the Rooney rule...the Broncos never had any intention of hiring Flores....

Exactly, what did he do to warrant a HC position in this year, he's not even officially the Patriots DC.

Hes coached in various capacities for a winning organization, other teams think he can bring that "system" to their organization.

Watching Joseph look like a lifeless doll on the sideline for the Broncos
You make a lot of conclusions based on almost zero information don’t you?

Im like the Sean from the show Psych I see notice things people often overlook.
Also hearing Flores interviews hearing the players talk about him his Ascension thru the ranks.
I don't feel BB would put someone in those positions without great leadership and Flores is a fighter.

I thought Vance Joseph was a bad hire but to judge his leadership based on a handful of shots of him in the sidelines and judge Flores because hey BB would never promote a guy who isn’t a leader while apparently you think other teams and coaches do is just mind boggling to me.

That's fair

As Miami Dolphins’ coaching search continues, momentum builds for this candidate
Ross and Chris Grier, the Dolphins’ new football czar, met with Flores in New England for several hours Friday and came away impressed. But that was no major surprise, considering he might have been Grier’s favorite all along.
While Grier had left the Patriots for the Dolphins years before Flores was hired as a scouting assistant, a league source tells the Herald that Grier has long thought highly of New England’s linebackers coach. In fact, one source went so far as to say that Flores is near if not at the top of the Dolphins’ list.

However id be much more interested in a some new Blood on the coaching staff more blitzing things like that.
Could we get Kris Richard?

I wonder if the Patriots look at Schiano as a possible replacement for Flores.

Don’t we have the former Arkansas coach on staff to take over the defense?

Seems like a bad idea tbh. After watching the last season of football, and after watching 3 of the top 4 defenses in the league lose in the wildcard round, I'd be hard-pressed to justify hiring a guy with zero offensive background as head coach. It's just contrary to the direction the game's evolved, we've seen way too many cases of teams hitting hard ceilings because their defensive coaches had no idea how to fix a bad offense, and leaving it all in the OC's hands never really works.

Who's more qualified...a coach who has been a DC for 10 years for a mediocre coach and a run of the mill org or a coach who has spent 13 years operating in mutiple roles in scouting, front office, offense, ST and a sucesssful DC while being mentored by the GOAT of coaches for the best organization in football?
This makes sense.
But how many of the previous guys in that position succeeded?
Crennel, Mangini, Groh, Pioli, McDaniels? O’Brien looks successful. Vrabel is early and never coached under Belichik. It’s hard to argue even a 50% success rate.
Even with the guys who got double secret access. And not sure Flores has that yet.

If Flores is smart, he will run from elway as fast as possible!

Not worried at all if he leaves ... seems like a decent coach but there's to much unknown here.
How much of the changes on defense were Flores and how much was Belichick?

In any case ... Belichick could be the DC for a year with ease if need be.
By the time Belichick is ready to retire or in a few years Steve will be ready to be a DC.

Would not Boyer or Daly get first shot?

OSU has moved on from him. A lot of fans complained about him this year, although I think it can be difficult to project his value in a year where you have a guy like Nick Bosa missing.

Edit: just read a different article that suggests that Schiano was the one who didn’t want to return due to his desire to pursue an NFL gig. Interesting.
