So between this year and last, the Pats have tried FIVE first round draft pick WRs. Crazy.
So, uh, where are all the people saying WR wasn’t a need in the offseason. Belichick apparently disagrees and now he’s throwing stuff at the wall to see if anything sticks.
So your argument is that josh Gordon kept getting open and Taylor didn’t want to throw it to him?Are you relying on Tyrod Taylor's judgement as a QB?
Almost certainly the more important signing (ST player).
Wasn't kick coverage supposed to be one of Patterson's duties too?Does Wright cover kicks on ST?
He looked nasty in college, hope it works out.
Yep. Physical ability and athleticism are not the concerns here. Its all between the ears.Coleman certainly seemed to have some wheels. His QB seemed pretty accurate, too. Lethal combo in college ball.
Coleman has experience returning punts and kickoffs in college. So yes if he could capture that role on special teams I believe he could keep a spot on the roster. As far as being a wide receiver, he's fast with that 4.37 speed but he needs to run routes and catch balls. If he muffs a few catches early, he could quickly lose Brady's trust. Getting off to a fast start is essential for Coleman, but as noted many, many receivers have failed to catch onto our complex option route system. He has to make the same read and decision as Brady and be at the spots he is expected to be based on the defense.
Sifting through the expensive misjudgments of other teams for something useful while spending zero draft capital and minimal cap space.
BB knows how to use the draft.
Why to waste picks when it is a strong possibility to have first rounders for a pennySifting through the expensive misjudgments of other teams for something useful while spending zero draft capital and minimal cap space.

My argument is pretty clear: he's not a scrub who suddenly lost his HoF level talent, just because you were unimpressed with a week 1 game, despite looking like his old self on the rare occasion the ball was thrown to him. Besides, he's WR who's always open even when covered. So your argument is that josh Gordon kept getting open and Taylor didn’t want to throw it to him?
Interesting take but I don’t think I buy it.
