Who says they should stake their chances on Josh Gordon? I sure as hell wouldn't. I'm adding him to the roster because of what he has the ability to offer. In no way am I giving up the farm or running my offense through him. It’s not the risk tolerance as much as the risk level. I see zero chance he will play the season out.
Hell he just didn’t show up for camp because he was sad that he had to deal with a child custody case.
This guy could check himself in or spark up because his cornflakes were soggy.
You just don’t stake your chances on a guy like that.
Exactly but the poster doesn’t know football. He didn’t know who Malcom brown was when we drafted him in the first round so he holds a grudge. The problem is that MB is not dead weight. Who would play his position?

His ability to catch and make plays at all levels and beat man to man coverage is a difference maker. The Browns knows this which is why they are keeping his addict ass around.
If it doesn't work out, they waive him and they still have the same players playing that they do now.
Well Zolak
What do you have to say for yourself?

I entertained the "trade MB" thought a while ago but that was when I thought VV was a replacement option which it turns out he's not ready for that yet. Maybe I was too high on VV.
But as of now there isn't anyone you could replace MB with that wouldn't make the defense worse which offsets any gains you would get adding Tate. imo.
So you want to give up picks to use him as a decoy for a few weeks until he walks away or is taken away? Why bother?Of course I'll play him but I'm not force feeding him the ball 10 times a game like they do Jules and Gronk. If he stays on the straight and narrow, contributes some plays here and there and helps free up coverage for Gonk, the other receivers and the running game hes earned his paycheck. We don't need him to be Randy Moss. We need him to be a productive component of the offense.
Did I say use him as a decoy? So you want to give up picks to use him as a decoy for a few weeks until he walks away or is taken away? Why bother?

So you are making him part of the offense we are building to make a playoff run or you aren’t?Did I say use him as a decoy?
Of course he needs to catch balls and make plays.
I'm not sure hed be a 80/1400/20td guy here as they don't need him to be but 40/700/5 is what I would envision as a very good ROI for a conditional pick. Are you talking about Josh Gordon? You really think he would be a decoy here? Really? The guy might be a weed head but he’s a smart player and one of the best route runners in football. He would make an impact like randy moss did.
So you are making him part of the offense we are building to make a playoff run or you aren’t?
Can’t gave it both ways.
Also how do you feel he is more valuable to us than Cleveland?
He helps them win week 1 then gets suspended for life it was worth it to them to get a win.
What are you expecting to offer?

But that’s the point. You are building an offense. If you make a guy part of it who gots away in November you are in worse shape than if you never used him.I am making him part of the offense so I have a better chance of winning games as soon as possible. If he blows up, hes off the team and i'm no worse with Jules, Gronk, Hogs, White who have been in the system for years.
To trade a player he had to be more valuable to the other team.I don't understand your question? I assume he is valuable to CLE which is why they are putting up with his crap. They have nothing to lose and nowhere to go but up. For NE I give up a conditional pick. If he has 80/1000/10 and the NEP win the SB give up a 2nd. If he flames out, a 5th? 6th? Don't know.
He could get 1000 yards in his sleep but you’re right the ball would be shared around but the guy’s a good wr. If you’re a good wr you won’t struggle no matter the offensive system other teams run. You adapt easily because you have that talent. Gordon has that talent. We picked up josh Hansen and Darboh. I am not a fan of darboh but Hansen i liked coming out of college.
