Im ok with Rowe as a rotational CB but hes never been healthy enough to play 90% snaps. Plus I dont think hes good enough to warrant it.

Jason is a good zone CB. Part of me wonders if he can convert to FS and take Richards's place.

Breeland is intriguing. He was getting fat cash before he had the foot problem. Hope is takes a deal here.

AFAIK, Richards has been playing primarily a strong safety (ish) role, and even something like the "star" role - closer to the LoS. Given Pleasant's experience (and success) in precisely those roles (plus his extensive ST work), he seems to me more likely to replace Richards than JMac would be.

Well, sometimes DMC plays close to the LoS so I assume his twin can do the same thing.

My 74 year old dad is an upgrade over Richards

Yeah, IDK. DMC has been working into and evolving within his safety role since 2011, and it's really just the past couple-three seasons that the Saban-Belichick "pattern-matching" coverage schemes have been used by the Pats extensively and drawing DMC closer to the line. I don't think that JMac's experience has ever really taken him there, and I'd be skeptical that he'd be able to just step into that kind of role.

Tall physical has to be better deep than Richards.
Really anything to push Richards off the roster the better.
He really is the new Jake Bequette.

Richards was among best/most consistent/dependable Pats ST players taking over some captain duties when Slater and Ebner were gone. He's a backup on D where he struggles greatly by fans view and probably somewhat less for BB. No one is bashing King for not breaking the D in all the years spent here. Or Ebner. Or Slater on offence. Just because he is a liability on D (or “he's a 2rd pick“) it doesn't mean he is useless. At least Pats fans should know that. Id take him over King as core ST fwiw. And over some others as well. Will I cry if he is cut? No. Do I have a problem if he stays? No.

A) Sign the beast
He retired but does some part time consulting. He might jump back into the mouse wheel for the right money.

B) Can he rush the passer?
Yes but he can't set the edge anymore. He might need a hip replacement soon.

C) Can he both throw a football to himself AND catch it?
Yes but only up in the air. He might need to take a nap.

D) RLKAG[/QUOTE]
what does that mean?

Ray Lewis Killed A Guy.

We don’t have a glaring need at CB & Breeland would cost $, but he’s a really good fit as a BB #2 CB in a man scheme. Give him the safery help Browner/Dennard/Ryan received & he’d definitely bounce back. I still remember Gruden letting the poor kid island Antonio Brown.

Gilmore
Breeland
Rowe
Dawson
J. Jones (ST)
Jackson (inactive/development)

That’d be a really deep group with youth. Howe claims that Rowe & McCourty are in a close battle but I didn’t see that at camp. He’d probably know better obviously.

So, you cut McCourty and still keep 6 corners on the 53?

I agree. I just want Richards's ass out the door. I'd settle for Big Bird at safety over him.

Richards needs to be banished to the Phantom Zone
