OT: Shady McCoy allegedly beat his gf

Why is Goodell's league turning into the National Felon League? I don't see this kind of thuggery in the NHL, NBA or MLB.
Can we go back to character players please even if they are less talented.
They are much more exciting to root for.

So shady got the rookie initiation talk from Cris Carter.

He could have at least done the Bills a favor and beat the hell out of her BEFORE the draft so the Bills knew they had to look for a RB.

This sure seems to me to like it will be pretty easy to figure out once an actual investigation is launched. You have a woman claiming this happened within the past 24 hours and then you have McCoy saying he hasn't "had direct contact" with either of them in "months."

I can't imagine it will take terribly long for investigators - either police, media or even internet sleuths - to figure out where each party was over the past day or so.

I suppose it could have been people acting on McCoy's behalf though.... but that seems like a stretch....

Gotta figure either way there were a lot of threats made, and, because a 3rd party made this post, witnesses to those threats.

Who knows how complicated this story is, but in the end, it seems like a major lose lose.

Victim now has legal representation. Alleging that robbers wanted specific jewelry that McCoy wanted back and that there was no sign of forced entry.

Instagram poster states that victim's lawyer encouraged her to remove the Instagram post (... that horse is obviously out of the barn).

I wonder if the victim is the mother of the son who was allegedly abused?

This story sucks.

More this happened in greater Atlanta. She is from Atlanta. He is listed as being from PA.

This sounds as a place he bought for his girl friend/mistress. it must have ended, when he tried to evict her with force. She documented and stopped it. He has a history of abuse/violence. ...Any tie in to the pictured abuse is legal death to McCoy if he was there or not.

...the above WOW.

Don’t Picard me! I’m sure you saw the post I was replying to.

slightly OT: that is some really bad writing. This reads much more like a PR/media strategy than a legal one. If "Ms. Cordon will have no further comment at this time" then why did the attorney who wrote this make sure to tell everyone whom to contact "for more information"?

Hope this woman's lawyers are half decent. Regardless of whether these allegations are true or false, you can be sure that McCoy will hire a powerful legal team to do everything possible to crush this woman's credibility (which would serve to both keep him out of jail or out of NFL purgatory).

Edit: @Deus Irae you're an attorney, right? Does this statement seem pretty... not good... to you?

The lawyers will often funnel questions to themselves rather than to the client. It's part of the job. It serves multiple purposes, as it gives the client a break, keeps all information coming from one node, and allows for easier control of the narrative.

And we've seen cases like these before, from both sides, so people should wait upon judgment at least until we can get some sort of cogent narrative development in this instance. We've seen men/women stupid enough to get someone to steal/attack for them, and we've seen men/women stupid enough to fake attacks on themselves.

Please. Calling out somebody who suggested that this woman's face became that way is "because of an accident" is not "being in the fray"; it's just calling out stupid posts, something out of which you make a career here.

Her name is "Delicia"? As in Delicious?

When it comes time to name their children, too many parents are too feckin stupid.
Delicia isn't even close to one of the stupidest names parents come up with. Haven't heard of the name before but it isn't particularly strange.

The post you quoted was #27 in the thread; the post I quoted was #5 in the thread.

I'm still not completely sure what you're saying, but I'm pretty sure that post #27 was just a way for that poster, (who has incredible delts by the way) to inject his political opinion into a thread about a Bills RB, and he wasn't replying to post #5 (which also was a confusing post, to the point that other people here are having trouble interpreting it).

No, it's being in the fray. With a case like this, where there's a shifting accusatory narrative, it's absolutely legitimate to question whether or not the accuser was up to something, even more so as the information about the police report didn't come out until after your post (if memory serves). You've been wrong with your accusation about who started politicizing this thread, as Captain has pointed out, as post 5

But he stood for the anthem.

5, 4, 3.....(Ray Lewis killed a guy, maybe two will be arriving on schedule)

had already politicized the thread before post 27 existed, and yet you jumped on post 27 with

Once again, it's hilarious how the people who are like "stick to sports! Don't bring your political message to the field!" are the first ones to bring their political message to something that has nothing to do with politics.

And you were wrong with regards to how you jumped on the post wondering if the woman was taking advantage of an accident, when you've been trying to argue a clean hands position.

If you want to claim to be above the fray, be above the fray.

As I responded to Captain, FCB clearly wasn't replying to post #5 (which was itself ambiguous). He was making that dumb point that people like to make about anthem protesters blaming cops about their problems but not blaming black people. You know your fellow posters well enough to understand their viewpoints and the level of reasoning they're capable of.

Second, if you think it's plausible that the accuser fell down the stairs, and then just decided that the massive facial injuries she sustained could be used to accuse Shady of abuse, feel free, but understand that that's a ludicrous take that makes you look like a complete clown. I know we don't agree on some stuff but I know the level of reasoning you're capable of is (usually) much higher than that.

You also shouldn't edit posts like that. I responded to what you wrote and then you changed it. Don't hit reply until you're sure you're ready because it ****s up the reply that I wrote to you and the thread in general.

The post FCB was replying to isn't relevant in regards to which poster first politicized the thread. You were wrong, Captain was right.

I've dealt with people's attempts to blame others for their own accidental injuries, just as I've dealt with people's attempts to deliberately mar or hurt themselves and blame others for it. So you feel free to tell me what you think I look like for not accepting your position, and I'll feel free to laugh at you because I know better than to immediately rule out the stated alternate proposition when things look a bit odd.

I know we don't agree on some stuff but I know the level of reasoning you're capable of is (usually) much higher than that.

We're not agreeing because you're provably wrong and won't just either offer up a mea culpa or let it go and move on.

If I make a mistake in a post, I'm going to edit it if I haven't seen a response to it first. If I see a response to it, I'll generally note the edit, if it's relevant.

In this case, my edit took place a full 6 minutes before your reply was clocked in, so that's that.

Short for Delissio (not delivery).
