Which really isn't saying all that jeten much.
That's much of what last season was about. Save tons of cap space and develop the young players.

The problem is they did it a bit too well. They weren't supposed to win. Makes this season that much more fun though.

I love every time someone says that Josh McNown is such a great mentor to young QBs. He mentored Petty and Hackenberg so well they’ll both be released for nothing 10 minutes after the draft.

Are you really contending the bulk of Jete history has been about developing young players? Because with only 17 winning seasons in 58 years what last season was really about was business as usual, just with a slightly different clown face painted on the same tired ol' jete.

No. I clearly specified I was talking about last season.

The NJ Jete have arguably done a better job building the confidence and skills of young players than any other team in the league.

They were just the other team's players.

No. I clearly specified I was talking about last season.

Which clearly was pretty much the same as the bulk of Jete seasons, ergo my entire point. You'd have to be dumb enough to be a jeten Jete fan to think...oh wait...never mind.

No, last year was a unique situation. An almost perfectly played rebuilding year.

Drafting the two safeties was abysmal? Or the two rookie safeties played abysmally?

I thought the developed great over the season.

It was one of the highlights of the season.
I'm genuinely surprised you can bring yourself to remember "highlights" from last year, since (A) you were rooting desperately for the Jete to lose and (B), football season when the actual games are played is your least-favorite time of year. But to answer your questions, yes to both -- the draft picks were ill-advised (what else is new?) and both played poorly. From your perspective I guess I can understand why their poor play was a highlight for you, since it contributed to losses.

What do you expect from a team that can't spell "NJ"?

So since it was a perfectly executed rebuilding year, the JETE became a super-bowl winning team? No?
A super bowl contendah? No?
A playoff team then. You must mean that the JETE rebuilt and became a solid respectable playoff team?
No? That's not what you mean?

A winning team, then! They had an "almost perfect" rebuilding year, and now they're a winning team. They at least won more than they lost, right?

NO? SERIOUSLY?

YOU WON 5 FREAKING GAMES???

How did anything get "rebuilt"???????

Don't try to answer that. It's just pathetic.

You're too kind. He didn't have perspective rather an excuse fed to him by the Jete management. Let's not forget the in forum orgasm he had after Sacklesburg threw for a whopping 127 yards in a Jete win last season.

Last year was total futility. Sure, both safeties got some playing time, but in the end they had to give up most of their draft capital to move up three spots for a pick that they'll probably get jetin' wrong. At the end of this season Blowes and Macca get fired, and it's back to square one for the Jete.

Everything a Jete fan says/does should be erased from all human memory as soon as possible.

I don't think the Jete are going to suck as much this year as they "normally" would.

Most folks would say that life is short, but not a Jete fan. To them life is too long.

I suppose you can spin it that way by thinking that they set up 2018 to loose enough to guarantee an early draft pick in 2019. And when they blow that pick they help themselves get an early draft pick in 2020. Brilliant strategy I must say.

I have been pondering the implications of this statement for the last several moments. I'm left to conclude that sucking "less than normal" means they still SUCK. Am I right, or am I right?

Of course you are right but sucking "less than normal" is to a Jete fan what winning a SB is to a Pats fan.
