It's obviously a little early, but the Patriots rushing attack seem to be off to a good start thanks to the newcomers in the running game.

Last week's performances by Stevan Ridley and Richard Medlin put them at the top of the AFC through the first week heading into tomorrow night's game against Tampa Bay.

Ridley finished at the top with his 16 carry, 64 yard performance which included 2 rushing touchdowns, while Medlin was right behind him with 14 carries for 54 yards, and also reached the endzone twice.

Ridley also had the second longest run in the Conference last week, with his 21 yard 3rd quarter run helping to set up a 16-yard touchdown reception for him.  He ultimately finished with 47-yards receiving, giving him 111 all purpose yards for the game.

Medlin had the 4th longest run for last week, with a 17 yard 4th quarter gain that helped set up a two yard touchdown run for him.

Ridley also had the 2nd highest number of carries in the AFC for last week with 16, while Medlin was right behind him with 14.

File this under the "meaningless stat" category, but hopefully they'll continue to build from these performances tomorrow night against the Buccaneers.
