only way the Nash trade works is if Boston wins the Cup this year or re-signs Nash for a longer term and eventually wins the cup. otherwise they gave up spooner, lindgren and belesky and a first and seventh rounder for nothing.

Not like they gave up Bjork or JFK or the the rights to Danato.
Not nothing, as it also cuts the Belesky money issue in half, but not enough. However, sometimes "not enough" can be enough, just like bad trades can sometimes be good ideas.
Put it this way, they probably could have traded all those assets for something better than a rental player.
Spooner is what he is, a guy with a ton of potential and all the tools who sometimes showed flashes. Consistency is not his thing. My personal opinion is he feels he's a true center but he's too much of a defensive liability. Not quite sure he ever settled into being a winger. Nash potentially could slot in with Krecji much better.
Belesky is no loss and Lindgren was not a top prospect. Not like they gave up Bjork or JFK or the the rights to Danato.
I don't really agree with the comment about his defense. He's sort of a defensive minded forward to me, but I was always curious how he'd look with someone like a Nash or a talented set of wingers.
Do you have any examples to share about his defensive play being a liability?
krecji has no trade clause in his contract.I honestly thought we'd try to deal Krejci, unload that contract and then slot Spooner up to his more natural position at Center, and sort of move on from Krecji at the point.
Claude was too busy forcing him to play wing, where he comes off far more like a natural Center to me.
Krecji has that great vision, great passer, but that is a bad contract and he's always hurt. I don't trust he'll be available this postseason. I hope I am 100% wrong on that this year.

I see you know about as much as hockey as you do about football. Here is a legitimate source saying Ryan Spooner needed to work on his defensive game: Spooner on last season: 'I looked at my game and I wasn't happy with it'
krecji has no trade clause in his contract.
Umm, I am pretty sure my knowledge of a lot of things, including hockey, is right up there. Not going to get into an argument over it.I have total confidnece in my knowledge of the game, its history, etc. You can do whatever you feel you need to do to insult and then watch as the mods ignore it, over and over and over.
I am glad Spooner acknowledged his defensive play as a smallish guy on the wing isn't up to where he'd like it, but a generic googled article isn't what I was looking for there.
I am asking for examples in games. Spooner's a natural Centerman, so I was asking about his work at Center being substandard not defensively, not when he is out of position due to a Claude Julien decision for yesteryear.
