Krafts: Brady has earned the right to decide when to leave

I 100% agree that Tom Brady has earned the right to determine his own fate.

....and yes, I realize this could mean team goes into a downward spiral when he does leave, but I'm honestly saying I'm ok with that. After all, Brady is a once-in-a-lifetime treasure, I don't want to rush cutting it short just because he could decline or we might already have the next guy.

In general, BB has been great about getting rid of guy 1 year too early as opposed to 1 year too late. Brady is special though, and I'll be perfectly fine if we get rid of him three years too late.

Why would people think belichick isn’t in conplete agreement brady has earned the right?

The idea that Brady or BB wont be back next year is absurd. If Brady were leaving, they wouldnt have traded jimmy g. If BB were leaving josh m would not be leaving for the colts job. I have no idea why the media cant wrap their head around this rather easy to understand set of circumstances.

Absolutely not.

I have zero interest in seeing Tom struggle though a 0-16 season.

Screw that.

The man has given the Pats 16 years. Every game he plays, no matter what the score or how behind the Pats are, I believe that Brady will bring the Pats back. I have complete FAITH in him. So, if he goes an entire season (16 games) and for some reason, does not bring the Pats back, well OK. Call us even.

"Brady has earned the right to decide when he's out" isn't really a position that started with the Wickersham piece. IIRC there were people suggesting this was the team's position before that piece came out.

In any case, it seems like a pretty noncontroversial take for the most part, I wouldn't say that Jonathan Kraft screwed up by voicing it.

If Tom goes out and simply does indeed fall off that cliff, and we have to suffer thru it, I am more than ok with it. He's brought us far more than I, and I wager all of you, ever expected. I'd much rather he was here than let's say ...

Kraft just micromanaged the best coach in the history of the game and what’s even more inexplicable is the fact that he lost Parcells the same way.

Do please share all of your actual knowledge about this.

To be clear, I'm ok with starting Tom to start the season with the faith that he will deliver.

However if he is playing like absolutely crap, looks old, throws ducks, always hurt and another player gives the team a better chance to win for the good of the team you need to pull him.

This post is close to a bannable offense.

:p

Started reading through that.

I have no idea how I managed to miss that thread back in the day. I saw all the others, including my favorite, "I don't care, I can't stand it!!!"

So far my favorite post is, "After Dobson is healthy Amendola should probably never be activated ever again."

He is nowhere near he vicinity of that territory though.
Let’s witness a 1% decline before we start planning the wake.

I know that.

The poster I responded to wants him to start if he completely sucks and we are on a path to 0-16.

As a general rule, people put way too much stock into public statements. They should all be taken with an entire salt mine.

Especially when we don't know the context. I heard that the RK and JK interview was supposed to be about other things and Andrea Kramer kept asking the BB, TB question and that was his final answer. He was probably getting pretty pissed at that point. There is absolutely no reason to think TB, BB and RK are not all on the same page. Also it's been on the record that BB wants tension in his workplace, he feels that gets the best out of everyone.

I never actually said that BB didn't feel this way. But since you're asking to be honest I actually think it's logical for people to think this about BB. After all, that's why we love him.........he's cool and calculated, not emotional. Based on the moves he's made in the past I think we have more reason to believe that he would get rid of Brady if the timing was right as opposed to holding onto him 'just because he's Brady'.

Omg, why man? Why???? Delete it. Delete it now!
I didn't make it, brother. I just googled it. Proof that if you can think of it, someone has already put it on the interwebs.
