Lou Merloni is case in point#1. He went from a thoughtful, genuine, honest analyst to a jaded, phony, disingenuous contrarian. And he did it because he figured out that it works.
Being in Ohio I enjoyed listening to WEEI when I got my current job six years ago and could ride on their wifi to stream it. It took about six months to get tired of the morning show. I managed to listen during the Benz days of the midday show. I enjoyed Merloni until a year or so ago. Then I dropped the midday show. I lasted with the afternoon show until about six months ago. I rely on Patsfans for my Pats news now. Thank goodness all my music is loaded on my Iphone. Now back to Ian's topic I think Brady will be good to go glove or no glove ;)

All my best to you!
Thank you! On the one hand (no pun intended), we were waiting for official notification as to "what to do" in case of, but on the other hand, I was busy using up data on my cell scrolling this thread.;)

My best wishes to both of you. The Pats have gotten me through some of the toughest times in my own professional life...within reason, it's good to have an alternate universe in which to exist to escape the stress from time to time.
Thank you.

My man, if you lasted 6 months listening to WEEI's morning show and made it through more than 10 minutes of Tim Benz you could have survived a plane crash in the Andes. God bless you.

While I greatly appreciate the sentiment I must say the alternative is sports talk in Cincinnati Bengals land. Ever heard a coach praise a player the same week he gets arrested? That happens here.

Everybody's favorite doctor chimes in again. ;)And once again, hopefully folks can relax.

Some highlights:

The next big thing to watch will be Sunday’s pregame.

The questions for that time will be:

  • Glove or not. (Expect one)
  • What type of splint on hand/thumb, if any. (Don’t expect any.)
  • If he takes snaps under center, as that slams his top (right) hand pretty hard with the ball. (He reportedly hasn’t taken snaps under center this week, but he should be able to on Sunday morning.)
  • Whether he can spin the ball with a tight spiral. (Chances are very good.)
  • Whether he throws deep or drives the ball downfield with accuracy. (I believe he will.)

Take that combined with his demeanor during his press conference and his teammate's demeanor during interviews; I still think this is a big cloud of nothing. Let's Go!

If that’s true, I’ll look at the gloves at the presser as the funniest thing I’ve ever seen

Brady walking to the field on Sunday

I remember seeing this live. I am pretty confident a lot of those people actually wanted him to stop the match. That dude was crazy. (before this he did a 22 foot fall through a table... yes the table was made to break and broke his fall somewhat. Still 22 feet.)

The only question i have is will this limit his ability to take snaps under center Sunday. Play action is one of the few ways you can really exploit that Jacksonville defense. They bite pretty hard on it sometimes. If that is limited or off the table that is one less tool you have to use.

I hope by game time he's fine and able to do it as much as they want.

My theory is the Patriots are embellishing Brady's hand injury in order to get the jags defense to take an over aggressive approach early in this game to test the severity of the “ailment".

My thought is the Patriots have installed a play(s) that they are very confident in exposing this defense for big yards or TDs, if only they can get the jaguars to bite on the bait.

The recipient of the play would most certainly be someone with exceptional speed. My guess Cooks or Dorsett. You heard it here first.

Apparently Brady was at the Dedham Hospital on Wednesday getting 12 stitches in his hand.

A caller on the touch & Rich Show said his friend works at the Dedham Hospital

There is no such thing as "Dedham Hospital." I doubt there is a caller to the Toucher & Rich Show that has a friend.

Toucher and Rich are idiots. Better than Minehane and Callahan, but still idiots.

While out and about yesterday @ 10:00 AM tuned into Beetle and Zolak, "chubette" immediately went into a rant about Hoyer's 4 int and fumble when he played for Houston in a playoff game in Jan. 2016 and tried to get the crowd worked up into a frenzy..

Changed to 103.7 and Merloni was ranting and raving about Hoyer also...

Neither made all that much sense, but am convinced more and more these mediots are being directed to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the listeners... somehow that drives ratings.

Switched to Pandora, again!!!

Yea its been disappointing to see how Framingham Lou has evolved into an idiot

I guess the question is as follows: Does the team have a better chance of winning with a 75 percet Brady or 100 percent Hoyer.

Ill take the former. Hoyer is not a good QB. And I hate to say it, but it's going to look really bad for trading away Jimmy G if/when Hoyer gives it away.

Seriously? You’re really going to ask that question?

75% of Brady is probably still top 5-10 in the league.

I've commented that I am still amazed that the Bengals haven't changed to black& white stripes to better represent their team.......

Only way you start Hoyer is if Tom is dead.

If it comes to pass that because of the injury Tom cannot throw then you put Hoyer in.

As of Wednesday night, hours after the right-hand injury occurred, Tom Brady's availability for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars was not in doubt. A source relayed that his hand "should be OK," and another said that while it might affect him "slightly" in the game, the belief was that Brady would be able to carry out his duties as the team's starting quarterback effectively. If anything, that belief only strengthened after Friday's practice, with Brady throwing the ball well in what was an important session for him after the initial scare. "He looked pretty good to me," cornerback Malcolm Butler said Friday of Brady. Meanwhile, receiver Danny Amendola added Friday, "He looked good ... they're always good throws [from him]."

some good news from Mike reiss today which echoes what most of the other media have heard. Tom brady should be ok for tomorrow.
