The Official Laugh at the Steelers Thread

The freat thing is we are not living rent free in the Steelers head, including the coaches, we are living rent free inside the fans heads.

I revel in their pain.

Everyone remember the Chiefs/Colts 2003 season Divisional where Peyton and the Colts never punted and Trent Green needed to have a heroic effort just to keep the Chiefs in striking distance?

5 TD passes, 469 yards passing, TWO 4th down failed attempts to desperately maintain possession of the ball out of fear of the other team's offense being unstoppable... Unneeded on side kick other than because you think you can NOT stop the other offense..

F'ING JAGS THO!!! At least that game in 2o04 was Peyton's Colts!!

Straw
No, we’re not going to do this today. I in no way changed the argument. My argument was always that they were the better match up than the Steelers citing the defense. Your reading comprehension is either woefully off (unlikely) or you just wanted to argue out of boredom (likely). Either way, you couldn’t argue that so you tossed in the obligatory straw man by trying to argue (hence “change the argument”) that I was saying the Jags would win. Unless you can cite that post, it’s a straw man and the debate was already over. You also can’t answer those three questions that I posed for good reason. Like I said, a white flag over bombed-out rubble. If you want to simply “agree to disagree” then be my guest.
Straw Man Arguments work well though if the other debater is ill prepared or does not understand what you are trying to do to them. (You obviously do understand it though)

The Steelers literally appeared to be a team full of "Straw Men" on the field (Defensively anyway)

There are still idiots in this thread who refuse to acknowledge that the Steelers would have been the significantly easier match up?

Yikes.

Pats will roll the Jags, but a game against Pittsburgh would have been won by 30+ points.

Did you watch the Jags game and see 3 of those touchdowns Ben threw? save for 2 dumb 4th and 1 conversions they couldv'e won that game. They put up 42 points on the defense fans here are comparing to the 85 bears coming into Foxboro next week. They have wide receivers who make catches that you just have to shrug your shoulders at when they make catches.

Ill take my chances of brady scoring more against their defense. than blake bortles scoring against ours.

Remember in 2014(I think?) the article about how some of the Denver players were afraid of going to Foxboro...then they got upset by the Colts at home.

I wonder if there is a similar sentiment in that Steelers locker-room...which then also caused them to lose to the Jags at home...The team looked like they were going through the motions most of the first half.

The way they built up that Pats-steelers game at Heinz just showed you that they had no faith in beating the Pats unless they had the #1 seed. and they ripped their hearts out..

It still baffles me why people think Tomlin is such a great coach. There is no discipline on that team and it shows up on game-day.

What kind of dicipline do you expect out of a team where the head choach himself is a little whiny *****, who compains about spotting other contenders a day, overlooking opponents, and thinking about the AFCCG at midseason point?!? Gangsta team coached by a gangster moron.

Steelers fans have the Rooney Rule to thank for having that Tomlin asshat as their head coach. Tomlin and his culture would have been long gone had he been a white coach. But by all means, please keep him coaching that **** organization.

No.
I said they were a better matchup for us. You argued that bortles was as good as manning in his Sb run.
Then you changed it to a defensive matchup.

The Steelers has us beaten if they held on to a pass. That’s a tough matchup.
The jags won’t come close. End of story.

Again... lol. My first post on the subject...

They’re definitely a tougher match-up.

Your response...

Nah. Pittsburgh would have a chance to score enough to have a chance. Jacksonville has already lost. Blake bortles isn’t beating belichick. Especially the current version of bortles who will be afraid the maje the throws B.B. dares him to.

My response...

Eli wasn’t beating Belichick either. Then DL dry humped Brady on the other side. The Jags match up better. The Steelers blew their wad, at home, against our D-Squad and still lost. They would have gotten smoked.

I was clearly talking about their defense when addressing how they match up in this game. From the get go. Again, you know this. Unless you were under the mistaken impression that offense was Jacksonville's calling card all year long and not the defense, I think that should have been clear. The Giants in 2007 had the same blueprint. Eli was a worse quarterback in 2007 than Bortles was in 2017. Both guys have lived and died on their defense going into their respective games against the Patriots. The Jags present a tougher match-up because they have the ability to rush Brady with four down linemen, drop seven into coverage, and have two outstanding outside corners.

The Steelers defense, on the other hand, couldn't stop the same quarterback that you're maligning in this thread from putting up 38 points against them at home. They showed no ability to stop the run or the pass when it mattered. Against Brady, with a full compliment of weapons and more time to study the different coverage concepts that Butler spent the offseason prepping for him, they would have gotten killed. None of this is even remotely debatable, which is why you're dying on a street corner in this thread and which is why you've yet to answer three relatively simple questions posed to you and have instead tried to turn this into a semantics debate by constructing a very flimsy straw man that was easily picked apart.

Has anyone else noticed a trend on those boards??

I was clearly talking about winning or losing.

There is no blueprint but that’s a different topic.

Eli was a worse quarterback in 2007 than Bortles was in 2017.
I thought you were CLEARLY only talking about the defense.
If you seriously think bortles today, afraid to try to throw to open receivers, is better prepared to play against the patriot defense than Eli was after having played them and put up 35 in week 17 then won 3 playoff games in a row, probably at the peak of his confidence lets just not talk football with each other.

Both guys have lived and died on their defense going into their respective games against the Patriots. The Jags present a tougher match-up because they have the ability to rush Brady with four down linemen, drop seven into coverage, and have two outstanding outside corners.
They present an easier matchup because they are impotent on offense and B.B. will exploit it.

Pittsburgh was a routine catch from beating us. That is a bigger threat than Jacksonville, and that’s not even debatable. But in 6 days we will know. If Jacksonville is inside our 10 with a chance to win or bets us you were right. When the game is a much easier win that Pittsburgh was I will be.

It's the 5 stages of grief, in two comments:

O YEA NEXT TIME IN GILLETTE WILL BE DIFFERENT, WE GET AB BACK AND WERE GONNA BEAT THOSE CHEATERS

Sour grapes a/k/a denial, anger and bargaining

WELL LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE EVEN IF WE FOUND A WAY TO WIN WE WOULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN EMBARRASSED IN FOXBORO

Depression and acceptance

Jagoffs have only beat 1 team with a winning record- The Squealers. Tennessee is beeter than the Jags. Over before 4th quarter.
That’s not correct.
But their defense has beaten up on a slew of crappy offenses and appears pretty overrated.

Yeah, it’s well known that Joker’s brother is a Steelers fan. They go hard.

True story. What does it say that you've got one "red x" for this comment... and I'm 90% sure it's not Joker?
