54 games 268 catches 3700 yards 25 TDs.
Part timer?
Most of that production came in a vertical offense. My post says that cooks is nothing more than a vertical receiver. I stand by what I said. Cooks routes aren't good and his ability to stem defensive backs outside and come back across there face is non existent.
Here's a hot take. Cooks doesn't have the skill set to be a full time receiver. He's to small to cross over a dbs face on a slant. He's not strong enough or tough enough to go over the middle. Only a matter of time until Cooks is just in the receiver rotation as just the "deep guy." He is completely innefective in the red zone. Too small and his routes are not good.
I am getting the feeling that apart from the obvious routes (deep go, comebacks, deep slants ect.) Josh & co just cant make Cooks fit into the offense in an organic way. In games where he can be used as the (soon to be) expensive chess piece that he is Cooks can get his targets and yards. However in games where -- for whatever reason (e.g. Gronk is not available) -- we need him to step up and do more than that we just cant make it work.
And I dont mean it as an insult to Cooks at all. I think he is having a fine season and maybe it is entirely on me but I thought that at this point we would be able to use him in way more versatile ways than go-routes and comebacks. I honestly believed that he could become a weapon that can be used similarly as the Steelers do with AB if we can just get him into space but it just doesnt work.
And then Brady still somehow decides to focus on him. I have noticed 1-2 plays where Dola was open in the middle but Brady had already decided that he wanted to go to the sideline where Cooks was.
Jesus the entire game felt so weirdly off on offense..
@KontradictioN I think these type of threads are really good. Kind of makes the posters accountable for their actions and their posts in the GDT. Only banned one poster last night, but probably could have banned at least 5 or 6.
Kudos to @Elijah for predicting last night's outcome. Not too many people saw that coming. Hope you're right about the Steelers game as well.
I think that is a lot different than posters saying "game over" after we are trailing 6-0 in the 1st quarter. Talk about quitting on the team...wow.
Oh no, i wasnt talking about that. Just a general comment thats al.Maybe you missed the OP where I said as clear as day that posters in this very forum can be included in this thread.
More banning is required. There were some real jerks on last night. I logged off as I couldn't take it anymore.

Slack channel is an excellent ideaI have mostly left the live threads behind. After 2 years of giving out downvotes and trying to reply to ******** I just gave up. I miss the insightful posts but the other 80% are just getting too silly.
I suggested it to @Ross12 last season before the Texans game but I honestly wonder if a separate non-hot take live thread would be sustainable for the posters that want to talk about what they are seeing in near-realtime but dont want to be subject to the verbal vomit in the general live thread.
If not I would be curious if a Slack channel or something might be an option.
Self-banning is the way to go. I went on the game day thread once years ago and that was it for me (although I did pop in and leave a comment last night when McD had Brady in a shot-gun snap on 3rd &1 & Brady predictably (I am talking about last night only) threw to Cooks who was completely covered and the ball clanged to the ground - I was so pissed at that play call - pretyt much sums up the night). I could never last in the game-day thread for any length of time. Besides having to put up with all the nut jobs and negative Nancys, I don't know how it doesn't interfere completely with your ability to watch the game. Put down the computer & live in the moment. Except for last night, watching the game is usually so enjoyable on its own.More banning is required. There were some real jerks on last night. I logged off as I couldn't take it anymore.

Yeah, I hear you RW, usually I am pretty patient, but some of the posts got to me as well. I was thinking it's been really good lately, but I guess that's what happens when you have an 8 game winning streak and the team hasn't been behind in a game in over a month...not much to complain about.
Slack channel is an excellent idea
Insightful/Level-headed Commentary one channel (invite only by the mods)
*****fest/Idiot/Panic-stricken/Entitled wack-jobs another channel (everyone)
My advice would be to ban DefenseRules from the thread before the game even starts.

Pittsburgh is going to hurt this team next week, and if by some miracle we make it to the SB the NFC is gonna clean our plates.
Should have franchised Jimmy as insurance.
How is this different than any other GDT?@KontradictioN I think these type of threads are really good. Kind of makes the posters accountable for their actions and their posts in the GDT. Only banned one poster last night, but probably could have banned at least 5 or 6.
