plenty of news to resume business

Solder prob. on his weekly absence . possibly more concern about Cannon, Brown, VV
esp. with 2 new DTs in (1 for Blackson) and Jelks joining

DL Ricky Jean Francois is one . a vet signing from the street now not good news..
hopefully just short term backup

Now is two of MM, VV, Jelks.
The way things are going this year . no one.

re. Jelks

A player who finishes the preseason still on the PUP list can then be placed on the regular-season PUP list. Such players must sit out the first six weeks of the regular season. At that point, teams have a five-week window in which to allow the player to begin practicing; from the day the player begins practicing, teams have an additional 21-day window in which to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, the player must remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.

A similar list, known as the "non-football injury" (NFI) list, is functionally equivalent to PUP, but is used for players who are unable to practice as a result of conditions unrelated to football, or injuries that did not occur during a game or practice. The NFI designation, despite its name, also covers injuries sustained during football played outside the NFL, including college football.

Might cost the Broncos 60-70 yards of total offense but wont affect the game result in any meaningful way.

Right now the Broncos missing 60 yo 70 yards of offense means, not counting garbage time, they will end up with 60 to 70 yards of offense. The Broncos offense is misfiring so badly they simply cannot afford the loss of one of the precious few productive receivers. Without Thomas they almost have no chance to win unless they run the ball wildly well, they get defensive scores or short field TO FGs, or they win the game by a score of 3-0 or 6-3.
Still a chance for Thomas to play. We'll see. But given the titanic fail they are going through on offense, losing Thomas would be shockingly bad misfortune.

I dont think it matters.

DT is a very overrated player that needs a top notch QB to look as lethal as his contract is. He is not someone who makes your QB better. Losing him would have a negligible effect on the game. The only way they have a shot is successfully running the ball anyway, even if he plays.

Maybe so Luuked, maybe so. But it's hard to imagine even an overrated but still capable receiver removed from that offense will not make it worse. Look at the last 4 games including total points scored minus garbage time, meaningless, prevent defense scores. In parenthesis is Thomas' portion of the passing yards.

KC 13 (1/3)
Eagles 9 (1/3)
Giants 3 (more than a 1/3)
Chargers 0 (1/12th)

Thomas is a third of the little success they are having. I just don't see how the Broncos aren't notably worse without him. Not that they weren't doing this before but teams will be stacking (so to speak) against the run and the Broncos appear powerless if they do.
