We need to find a new slot receiver and Brady needs to get over Edelman this season and see some new people.
Tinder for Wr's

I think now might be the time to just commit to making Burkhead a slot receiver. We already have more RBs than we need, and there's clearly a hole in the offense there. Amendola is the best option there, but we just can't count on him. Nearly every time we've asked him to play a featured role in the offense he's failed to make it through the game, let alone the season.

... no? They had two healthy receivers with more than a week's experience in the offense, and the Chiefs were playing them close and taking away all the short stuff. Taking deep shots downfield is the best way to beat that defense, assuming you don't have someone like Edelman who can manufacture a short passing offense against anyone.

Look at the Houston divisional round last year. Similar style of offense for the same basic reasons.

ok my eyes don't betray me. I'll mark down your post. I love brady. Right up there with Bird for me.BUT his light will go out like all the other great athletes.

Well that was certainly a shocker. Team played like hot garbage and just felt very off after that failed 4th conversion. That momentum swing just seemed to make the team melt apart.
Front seven is very concerning and even more so are all these injuries. Speaking of, i think Gronk is hurt too. Did he hurt himself of that non TD? Didn't look the same after.

Disappointed on two counts:

The defense giving up two big play touchdowns (at least in the long drives the Chiefs had to actually work for it). And the offense's complete refusal or inability to adjust. Little to no perimeter passing plays and little to no attempts to run the ball on the outside.

40 year old qb running a down field passing attack doesn't seem odd to you?

Why would it? Brady's arm strength is fine, and the chain mover is out for the year. This team may end up having to use a RB as the chain mover, if one of the receivers doesn't step up. Certainly, neither Hogan nor Cooks did that tonight.

With Edelman and Mitchell gone, Chris Hogan being doubled, and Amendola going out with a concussion; they didn't have as much of a choice.

suddenly they're THIN at WR. Imagine that, Rob? A position of strength in the preseason...gone. Maybe Boldin signs this week. Maybe Nink comes back to settle the defense a bit, especially if High is out. Where is the leader on D in the front seven?

The big DL and light back 7 seems like a lot better idea later in the year after these players remember how to tackle again. This was a bit similar to last year's Bills loss in that regard. Remember when people wanted to cut Logan Ryan after that one? It turned out okay.

defense stunk!!

....brady was bad. hogan didn't show, and gronk?? wtf....he looked slow and disengaged..they have to get him the ball.

one of the worst performances in patriot history!!

I think so. Even the spike was weak

Cooks was open a good amount of times he wasn't the issue.

"BB has created a vertical offense to intentionally make TB look bad so he can justify going with JG."

Somebody actually posted this in the thread. I guess as ****ty as tonight is with the loss and everything we can all at least take solace that we are NOT the poster who posted this.

Everything I read and heard was that they were going to make the offense vertical this year. Maybe all those guys were wrong.

that was the problem. No matter how much the game has evolved you have to do those things. The QB isn't the problem

Thanks for post

I might have a different look than most. The most physically prepared team didn't win and have this from a Saints perspective. I think NE was prepared and mentally ready for this game. I think KC was also. I want to see what KC does in its next games to see if what I feel is right, and that is that KC is a very good team. Better than anyone is giving them credit for. I thought the KC OT's and OG's were outstanding. Alex was sharp and playing at his best as an operational QB that doesn't turn over the ball. The WR talent in KC is way better than I thought.
But what I saw was a KC defense that played better than a NE defense. The KC defense just might be better, I don't know.
But I do know as a Saints fan that it doesn't matter if your the 1-5 best offense in the NFL when you have 3 losing seasons because you're required to make 35pts a game to win because your defense lets 2 run TD's or kills the clock and that amazing offense can't get on the field. This is how Brees has lost for 3 years. This was a defensive loss I think that BB will turn around. Hopefully not until after NO LOLOL, but BB will.
Again its just a Saints perspective. MC saved some plays on D that could have been worse on D , but 27pts with a NFL when the average 24pts average per a game should be a win is how we feel. I mean we cant have Brees throwing 50 passes a game to cover 35pts to win. The D and ST have to play well also
Really sorry for your loss, please dont kick our ass lol

For me it was Brady's lack of accuracy. Just balls that were off just enough that otherwise are spot on. Accuracy is the thing that goes first as well sometimes more so than strength. He wasn't exactly throwing darts out there and the receivers just couldn't catch them.

There will be a learning curve with Cooks, just like any other new receiver.

The "Cooks is the new Moss" posts have got to stop. Yes, we have a speedy, young WR, but so do a lot of teams and now he can't be utilized in the same manner with the loss of Edelman.

ps - hogan aint edelman.

boy did he suck tonight.

It isn't a knock on Brady. We can all just chalk it up to him being 40. It has no impact on his legacy. BB has to make a move on Jimmy so why wouldn't he do this? BB's smarter than you are!

This game was also reminiscent of rookie Geneo Grissom playing a ton of DT as DeAngelo Williams ran all over them two years ago. Stuff is going to change.
