D looked awful but that's something that can be fixed ... But boy did Gronk look slow.

There were several times players were open and Brady was off. Duane Allen on the first drive. Cooks several times down field. There was one time with Hogan.

But I do agree that for the most part, Brady's receivers were doing him no favors and weren't getting open other than Amendola.

I forgot to add that Eric Berry got to absolutely mug Gronk without any flags thrown.

They kept Jimmy for a reason. Belichick saw brady lose zip on his balls in the super bowl. Here's something to ponder. BB knows Brady's arm strength isn't there so he makes the offense more veritcal therefore exposing Brady so that Jimmy can get in sooner. BB always said he wants to win with another QB. I don't know, something to think about.

In a night full of stupid, reactionary posts, this is probably the single dumbest post I have ever read on this forum. I want to elaborate but I'm not sure how to, except that it kinda worries me that you're presumably entrusted with responsibilities like voting and driving and ****.

If Belichick thought it was time to move on from Brady, he would just do it. He wouldn't go out and deliberately **** over the team for a game just to prove some weird point that doesn't need proving.

I have seen some stupid stuff said on here but you take the cake. On to the ignore list!

so why is it we have a 40 year old running a verticle threat offense?

The math is pretty simple. You let Smith throw a 148 and Hunt average 8.7 a carry, you're going to lose just about every time.

The only question here is if this is the worst defense we have seen in the Belichick era.

Teams will run their RBs out and the Pats have no LBers who can keep up with them. Coleman and Freeman are gonna have a field day.

I saw the D give up at the end. Just flat out give up. That is the most worrisome part outside of the O. I pray I'm wrong about TB, and enough with the runs right into the line on 4th.

Koppen just said the DL is bunched up waiting for the sneak so why not go off tackle? Maybe try it once, but twice? Lost the game for them right there.

Brady didn't look like Brady timid seeing Ghosts off throws play calling was horrible once our run was stopped.
Mcdaniels and Patricia both get F's today.
Brady D- beautiful deep ball to Cooks he didn't turn the ball over.
I agree KC was holding like every play but the Tom I know would fit some amazing passes in tight windows.
Why wasn't he audibling out of those stupid run plays?
Here's a weird thing Edelman goes down Ninkovich retires.
I won't even finish my thought on that.
I'm hoping for the same result since the last time KC whooped our ass.

40 year old qb running a down field passing attack doesn't seem odd to you?

injuries injuries injuries. the only thing that's a real problem going forward for me. defense will be in big trouble if high is out and offense really needs dola this year imo

D was a mess and I don't remember the last time they gave up that many long drives.
Not a great place to be when the pats are putting guys in that have been on the team for a week or guys you've never really heard of.
Three 90+ yard drives in one game, and they said the Chiefs only had one of those all of last season. There were guys open all over the place on just about every play. They couldn't stop the run or generate a consistent pass rush. The secondary didn't look as dominant as was predicted either. Just a bad game in every area, including ST's.

With all that said, it's only one game. It's only one game. There's too much good on this team and coaching staff to think this is what we'll continue to see. We've been here before in 2014. Health is my biggest concern for the team right now. We have to get guys healthy already.

... no? They had two healthy receivers with more than a week's experience in the offense, and the Chiefs were playing them close and taking away all the short stuff. Taking deep shots downfield is the best way to beat that defense, assuming you don't have someone like Edelman who can manufacture a short passing offense against anyone.

Look at the Houston divisional round last year. Similar style of offense for the same basic reasons. Jimmy wouldn't have done any better, most likely. And the Pats had better figure out a better way to handle it going forward, because it's a safe bet that nearly every team we play going forward will try to do it.

We need to find a new slot receiver and Brady needs to get over Edelman this season and see some new people.
Tinder for Wr's

With Edelman and Mitchell gone, Chris Hogan being doubled, and Amendola going out with a concussion; they didn't have as much of a choice.

They are just going to have to find different ways to win. You could tell they missed Edelman and what he brings. Lot of 3rd down drives stalled were the polar difference tonight.

Two teams came to play, one was better prepared and did their job tonight. Give it up for KC, better team for sure at this point. That secondary held strong with Brady having tons of time in the pocket.

There was so much PI that wasn't called. I agree there. I do also think there were times when it was good coverage by KC. Either way, there was just no separation and, yes, Brady did miss some throws too. It was just an overall bad performance by damn near every player on the field in every aspect of the game, in addition to the injuries.

People keep going back to not kicking the FG at 7-0 but the game turned in my mind when they where up 24-21 and mcdaniels calls two running plays back to back in the red zone.
