Why? It's true.. every year we hear stories about how it is a mistake to cut some player and yet it rarely ends up mattering. If you ignore LeBlanc then who was the last released udfa that really contributed anywhere?

I think we're talking about slightly different issues. Fear of losing a fringe player is usually misplaced...but so is scoffing at fans who think that a player like Carr could be claimed, and equating every single camp binky to Bam Childress.

Gotta be a scrap pile safety better than Richards. S...L...O...w...!

Richards knows the scheme and the staff at least knows his limitationa which is good enough. If you wanna build up someone to behind him to take over midseason be my guest. But I am more concerned with totally busted coverages than a player giving up more yards than necessary because of athletic limitations.

With Travis and Jones on the PS, I'd rather have Grissom than Richards on the 53. he's a better special teamer.
Different st positions.

I think the divide is with keeping them so they don't get claimed.
Any one can get claimed but if they don't make your 53 why worry what happens next.

But also claiming rookies at cutdown is a new phenomenon. 5 or so years ago if the entire league claimed 5 it was a shocker.

It's nice to get Foster and Karras back. I have no idea why we brought back #34 David Jones. I know he was injured for awhile, but he missed so many tackles this preseason.

I think it is just a counter reaction to the ridiculous overhyping those players get when they flash against second and third stringers. Of course the media plays a central role in that because most people just keep repeating what they see or read in reports.

solid camp, solid LOS presence . expected w hamilton, augusta inj.
but there are other options out there.. might still be hard to stick around longer
was the highest paid PS member last yr. we'll see what he gets this year

BTW - with such a strong PS squad it will be interesting to see how much extra money goes to keeping them..

I think you hit the nail on the head with Jones. He had 9 ints his jr year and with his strength and 4.4 speed if he hadnt gotten hurt he would have been taken higher in the draft.

Pat's just wanna see how he improves.

Grissom is not a good special teamer.

Nice to know you are a better judge of Off talent than Sean Payton.

As luuked pointed out BB's track record with UDFAs he let's go that amount to anything is top notch. He determined Carr wasn't worthy of a roster spot so I'll roll with him.

Carr probably gets cut after Snead's suspension. My main point with that list is people need to realize that UDFAs usually have to show something vs. 1st teamers at some point like Butler/Langi. Torching walmart employees happens yearly.

Man, I'm overjoyed Foster is back on the PS. I know most posters don't see much in him, but I just really like what he brings to the table. I'm happy he still wants to be part of the organization, and I wonder if he will continue to be paid almost like a member of a 53 (like last year) and if he will ask teams not to try signing him off the Pats' PS. He may take a little more time to develop but if a guy like Dion is gone next year and/or if Burkhead does not re-sign (or injuries hit the position this year), Foster could become a real contributor.

We should realize that this practice squad is just a starting point.
Nick Caserio will tweak it all season long as better players are available.

He torched first team playing the jags. He caught everything in hi catch radius.

If you think the Saints picked him to fill a roster spot for a few weeks in an O he is not familiar with I can't help you.
