My personal binkys for the PS from the Pats' own cuts (add up to more than 10, I know):

OG/OC Karras - UNCLAIMED, Signed to PS :)
RB - Foster - UNCLAIMED, SIGNED TO PS (yay!)

RB - Daniels
WR - Carr - Claimed by NOL :(
WR - Maye.
WR - C. Hollister - UNCLAIMED, signed to PS :)
LB/ST Bates - UNCLAIMED, Signed to PS :)
CB/ST Moore - Claimed by IND :(

CB/PR Likely
SAF/ST Travis - UNCLAIMED, Signed to PS :)
DE/ST Grissom - UNCLAIMED, Signed to PS :)

I haven't really looked at any other team's cuts. Anybody have any binkys from other teams?

I Like your PS squad other than Bates

Karras has to be good as gone given OL situations across the NFL. He's a second year player with starting experience/versatility.

The Cardinals should pick up Foster. They have absolutely no depth behind the best RB in the league.

Moore is a developmental CB & gunner behind Slater/Jones. I hope he's back. Travis too.

After those four, I don't really see the rest with potential future NFL abilities. Not really that passionate either way for them.

-----------------------------------------------

Other team's cuts:

Tanner Gentry & Kasen Williams are victims to simply not being UDFAs of BB's meritocracy. They are better than a decent amount of WRs still on teams. However, we are loaded with young talent at the position. Pass.

Broncos fans are killing Elway for cutting Sloter & signing Osweiler. Pretty sure he led the AFC in passer rating & looked way better than Lynch. If BB wanted a 3rd developmental QB he'd make sense.

Throw in waiver claims for the best available C/G.

Every spot in the 3-3-5 defense seems pretty set after the Marsh trade. Really just pick up an OL please.

I don't see Carr or Lucien making it past the Jets/Bears/9'ers during the waiver process. All 3 of those teams have huge holes in their receiving groups.

An OL or two seems likely, along with one of the front seven defensive players going on IR.

For keeping track of the construction of the Pats PS, as well as to track which Pats' roster cuts are claimed/"appropriated" by other teams .....

It's difficult to project what the positional distribution will be on the Pats' PS, but it seems safe to say that there will be at least a couple-three soild special teamers from the defensive side and that the total number of OL between the 53-man and the PS will likely equal 10 or more - for scout team purposes, at least.

Just a reminder, the following Pats' roster cuts were WAIVED/INJURED. If unclaimed, they'll revert to season-ending IR unless they agree to a settlement. Either way, they won't be eligible for the Pats' PS - at least not until after their settlement period + six weeks.

WR Lucien
CB Killings
DT Hamilton
DT Augusta

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but Lucien was released due to Injury and if he isn't claimed he would go on IR is that correct?

I think once the IR designations come down we will add either Karras or Bolden to the 53. Maybe both. The problem is that Karras is exposed and probably won't be there. Also won't be there all season on the PS. Somebody will snap him up.

BB has stated you can always find guards. Our roster hasn't always lived up to that philosophy.

yes, unless they agree to an injury settlement

He would go on Injured Reserve, ending his season.

At that point if the two sides agreed to an injury settlement, he could get paid and be released. The injury settlement is based on how long the player would have been expected to be out with his injury. The injury settlement is a pro-rated amount of his contract, based on the number of weeks he would have been out.

If I recall correctly a player that receives an injury settlement cannot re-sign with that team (even for the practice squad) for the amount of time described above. For example, if Lucien's hypothetical injury settlement was based on his having an injury that would last four weeks, then he would not be able to re-sign with the Pats until week five. On the other hand, he could sign with any of the 31 other teams during the first four weeks.

edit: as noted two posts below, a player cannot sign for the period of time for their injury settlement, PLUS six weeks. In the scenario above Lucien could not re-sign with the Patriots until week 11.

Signing players off a practice squad isn't like making a waiver claim. A team has to make an offer to a player on a PS, and the player has the right to refuse that offer and stay put. If Karras makes it to the Pats PS, I'm guessing that the Pats will pay him at the same rate he'd earn if he was on the 53-man to try to prevent him from being lured away by another team.

It's actually the settlement period PLUS six weeks. A player with a four-week settlement couldn't be re-signed until after week-10.

EDIT: Miguel (patscap) has graciously corrected me ...

The post-settlement wait period was reduced from SIX weeks to THREE WEEKS this year. So, a player with a four-week settlement would be eligible for re-signing after only 7 weeks, not 10.

Agreed.

In this situation, Karras can decide whether to go to a team who wants him as part of their roster, or stay on a team that wants him as part of their practice squad.

There are better players available to those teams than carr and Lucien and Lucien is injured.

He was pretty good on ST during the pre-season, and he was on the scout team last season, so he knows the routine.

A quarterback on the PS does seem like a priority now, I'm curious to hear other names. (Also, with Jules down who's the emergency QB?)

Agreed, with the proviso that an upgrade at reserve SS wouldn't go amiss.

It was changed to 3 weeks this year.

Maybe but if you're one of those teams you are looking at developing young WR's Carr and Lucien fit the bill. Did Lucien get released with an injury settlement or just outright? I could see a guy like Braverman perhaps making it through waivers. I guess we'll see by noontime.
