I think if the Patriots traded anyone, it would be Mitchell. A lot of teams would undoubtedly be interested in him, moreso than anyone else mentioned (Amendola, Hogan.) However, unless the trade was for another rising player at a position of need, I don't see the value. I doubt the Patriots would even get a second round pick in return (only three years left on rookie deal), so it doesn't make much sense trading him for a draft pick. I do wonder if they've considered trading Mitchell for a young, talented defensive lineman or edge rusher. I like Mitchell, but I dont't think his talents will be maximized here, due to the incredible depth at WR, unless there are injuries.

I think his talents will be maximized here in terms of effectiveness but not numbers.

He is also in his second year of growth and has already proven to be an important SB winning asset. I'd hate to let him go before he's reached his prime.

Great character guy as an added bonus.

That comeback against New Orleans in 2013, wow ! Gotta give him credit for 2006, also a crappy WR corp and almost went to the SB.

Might sound crazy but Brady deserves more Lombardi than what he already has, that 10yr drought is head scratching, a healthy Gronk in 2011/2012 has back to back titles written all over it imo, and 2010 is a underrated heartbreaker as well, statically better offensive than 2007 and is our best even tho '07 is considered to be statically

Were you being ironic? Re-watching last season's games, I was SO impressed with him. Lots of great plays and only a few misses.

No, I think he is talking about recovering this year. He was on PUP, right?

Who are we to believe? Howe or Giardi?

I don't think it's as big a deal as they (all the media guys, not just one or two) make it out to be because again, guys on the line today will probably not be the 5 Horsemen you see on Opening Night. Although it's a good test to see where they are, until Solder and a couple other guys are there it's grain of salt time as far as these reports are concerned.

I think this year the donkeys puts miller back on Solder who Miller owns. I think Beasley is overrated.

Perhaps. I do remember Cannon getting the better of Miller in 2011 also.

Ok if you are unwilling to discuss that how about this?

JG for Watt. :D:D

yeah, this one is in the making since the beginning of the year

its also the one Clown would veto. the unwritten rule of trades: no trade should make both teams significantly better esp. if they are at the top of the league (and one of them is wearing white, silver and blue..)

I don't know man, that 2007 offense was insane. It was video game like. Never saw anything like it.
I hear you, bud. I just think this D will keep the chains moving line that team, but they'll also be far more versatile. They will have far more weapons that can beat teams a variety of ways. Gronk in that '07 team... the Pats would not have lost to the Giants.

2011 - Gronk hurt and they lose in the SB
2012 - Talib hurt in the AFCCG and they lose to the Ravens
2013 - Talib hurt in the AFCCG and they lose to the Broncos
2014 - Team is healthy and they win the SB
2015 - Team is totally banged up and they lose to the Broncos in the AFCCG
2016 - Gronk hurt but they still manage to win it all

The thing that has mostly stopped the Patriots has been injuries.

And it's hard to win every single Sunday despite what we've been ridiculously spoiled to witness.

Just read this

"**Cyrus Jones got beat on a crossing route that went for a significant gain."

From masslive

According to Bedard, Watt had his way with the Pats OL - beating all of Mason, Waddle, Cannon and Thuney for what would have been sacks in an actual game.

The combination of Watt, Clowney (once he's back) and Mercilus are going to be a real handful.

This site has a good summary of the day:

If Tablib didn't sprain his vagina in 2012, I think that team goes to the Super Bowl with or without Gronk.
