2017 Training Camp - Day 13 (8/15/17) (Joint Practice with the Texans)

Can we talk for a minute about Houston Texans training camp in West Virginia? Maybe they're building new facilities in Houston or something, but West Virginia???

Just think of the thousands of fans who flock to Foxboro for every open Pats practice. In particular, think of all of the thousands of kids whose team loyalty is cemented by the experience. There wasn't any place to train in the whole wide-open state of Texas?

They don't have many fans up in DFW, and this is the weather in Houston right now:

Saints have gone there for several years.

Pats and Saints have had joint practices there.

They did. But I believe they still have some contractual obligations to Oxnard for another year or so.

The Cowboys did not build the stadium. Frisco did - for high school games. The Cowboys I think pay $1 mil a year to use it AND get a cut of revenue. Jerrah is a businessman.

Haven't heard from Devin Lucien in a while. Was kinda disappointed in his lack of production in the 1st preseason game.

Were you being ironic? Re-watching last season's games, I was SO impressed with him. Lots of great plays and only a few misses.

Probably trying to stay out of the insane heat in Texas.

Yeah, I certainly understand that. It's one of several reasons I try to avoid Houston all year round.

I was surprised, though, because I thought that the Texans had always held camp close to home in the past. This way it's like having to travel to four straight away games with the huge 90-man team and all of the equipment, etc it requires.

No, I meant to imply that after his injury he's starting to get his groove again. Not that he lost it, just that his injury was a factor.

Was obvious he was the best WR on the field for the Pats in that game. It just got ignored because Carr made a nice TD catch and people seemed to have ignored his 8.8 avg.
