I see my attempt at making fun of the many "what happened, don't want to read" posts we have on this site was not well received hahaha.

I will be glad to comb through this thread later and get all the little nuggets of juicy hype.

There's a DJ Foster tidbit in this thread just for you. Not telling you where though for that joke. ;)

Just read the thread to your baby. Got to start teaching them early.

Better, make the baby read or no milk.

Oh god, I forgot this was happening. Is there a summary anywhere or do I really have to wade through these last 14 pages?

You better hope that Ian doesn't have some web designer named "The Turk".

If he does, stay off of InstantFace and Yearbook.

Harmon is basically a starter. Both he and Dmac can cover like cbs. He'll get a lot more snaps than Rowe. That's what makes this secondary so exciting this year: when they go big nickel, they can cover anything-inside,outside,tes,rbs and the run game.

Wheelman -what do you disagree with? Harmon played a lot more snaps than Rowe last year. The discrepancy should be even wider this year.
Or do you disagree that the Pats big nickel can cover everything?
The Patriots best and most versatile db group is the big 5- Butler Gilmore Dmac Chung Harmon. Sometimes 6, with Chung playing lb and Rowe as#3cb.(or JJ).
Pats also played 3 safeties more than any team in the NFL last year. You got a beef with Harmon?

Lewis a lock. He is handsdown the best Patriots rb.

As Ivan Fears has said, there's no one else on the roster(and few in the entire NFL), who brings that level of explosiveness.

Unfortunately, he's also been been hurt. So I'd expect BB will be careful with his #of snaps this year- not hard, considering the multitude of offensive weapons the Pats have.

But make no mistake -hes the best Pats rb and is a stone cold lock. Anyone saying otherwise is talking out their arse.

Its a shame his health and durability are a question and something that needs to be managed.

Over the past two years - including playoffs he averaged close to 12 touches a game.

I suspect that might go down to around between 7-9.

Like with KFaulk, maybe less is more?

Bruh it's been a long day. As soon as the baby's asleep I'll be all over this thread.

I refuse to say "bruh". And I work with a lot of 20-somethings. It's " bro", bro.

Here a coherent practice report for Ross&co by Bedard:
Practice report 07.27.17

some nice bits:

Garoppolo ready to go: He threw a couple interceptions in red zone work, but overall Jimmy Garoppolo was outstanding in practice. Totally at ease with everything and threading the needle to all parts of the field. The thing that kept entering my mind: This guy is ready to direct his own team, whoever that is, right now.
_
  • Stephon Gilmore opened at RCB, Malcolm Butler at LCB and Jonathan Jones was the third cornerback.
  • Rex Burkhead got a long look as the two-minute drill. Probably nothing than just getting him up to speed. James White and Dion Lewis know what’s going on.
  • All the running backs had good days, which happens with no pads. One thing is for sure: you better be able to catch the ball in his backfield. All of them, including newcomers Mike Gillislee and Burkhead, were at ease catching the ball.
  • Thought some of the young defensive backs were competitive, specifically Kenny Moore, David Jones and Dwayne Thomas.
  • WR Devin Lucien was in the mix a lot before he started limping with a knee injury.
_
and the here we go again section:
  • Without Ninkovich and Ealy, Geneo Grissom got a lot of action.
  • The Patriots look rough at linebacker without Hightower on the field. Jonathan Freeny, who looked slow in coverage, and Shea McClellin received a lot of playing time.
_

First pads practice on Saturday . so PFK can join the fun..

What I'd really like to see is a healthy Lewis at playoff time. The Dion that wowed us b4 he got hurt.
That plus a healthy Gronk, Cooks and JE11- flat-out nightmare for any D Pats face.

14 pages here isn't so bad.

Much better than a game day thread.

I really think thats the plan. 50-75 carries and 30-40 catches max. Maybe a few kickoffs in there too.

That plus a healthy Gronk, Cooks and JE11- flat-out nightmare for any D Pats face.

This offense is going to be sick.

EVERY thread is much better than a game day thread, even the ones that devolve into pointless side arguments.

Posting in the game day threads is like bad sex with an ex girlfriend. You know its terrible. You can't stand her annoying voice but you tolerate it just because.

Coleman had somewhat surprisingly good start of TC.
This DB battle will be just brutal.
Thankfully (for the players) there are 31 teams watching the outcome for “leftovers“..

Dont fall in the trap. Coleman could cover the outside if he had a tarp.

Great rookie year. Great opening day last year. Toasted vs. Seattle & never seen again. Could be decent if he can rebound.
