Goodell still upset about Patricia's clown shirt

This.

Its the NFL version of Shawshank Redemption. Warden Norton puts Andy Dufrene in the hole for two months and for revenge, Andy escapes from prison, robs Norton of $370k, spends his life with his best friend living on a beach facing the Pacific Ocean and fishes and drinks tequila to kill time.

The problem with this analogy is that Norton was exposed as a crook and when his day of reckoning came, wound up putting a gun to his head. Unfortunately Goodell hasn't done that yet (metaphorically speaking).

I'm hoping that day comes (metaphorically speaking)

Wouldn't be surprised if RG puts word out to the other owners that hiring MP might not be in their franchise's best interests...like CK

I can't take credit for this, as I saw it in the PFT comments, but wouldn't that course of action confirm what many believe drove deflategate, that Goodell is a petty and vindictive person?

If Goodell got $5.00 for every shirt sold he wouldn't be pouting.

Goodell should summon Patricia to his office and Matt should wear the shirt.

How cool would it be to get every Patriot fan wearing that shirt opening night at Gillette. Not even Kraft and his Politically Correct security team could do anything about it.
It would throw the network broadcast into turmoil as they try to present a 3 hour football game without any crowd shots.

Serious question. I know it has been talked about, but where does the "clownout" stand? Has anyone gotten a plan off the ground?
I am willing to donate a couple hundred dollars to help make this a reality.

It kind of got scrapped.

RE: Opening Night

It's embarrassing that he is still bothered by a shirt. He's a grown man. (Supposedly) in charge of a wildly successful business. It's a shirt. RG is a public figure - open to ridicule if / when he screws up.

It starts making sense when you think that the years might make BB unable to do the coaching thing physically. there's definitely a physical element to being a good coach after all, and assuming BB can't keep up physically but the franchise absolutely wants to keep that mind in harness as long as possible, then he can be upstairs doing roster stuff and being available so Patricia and/or other coaches and players could pick his brains on playbook matters and take advantage of that incredible wealth of experience and the winning roster building philosophy, while Patricia handles the day to day team prep.

Two words: Marv Levy.

Also, get that man an avocado smoothie!

I would imagine, by the way, that an enterprising T-shirt vendor could make a tidy sum with a few boxes of product.

For F&$@'s sake, grow a sack, build a bridge and get over it. I'm telling ya, my 3 month old daughter is tougher than that dude. I'm sure we're gonna lose a 2nd rounder for being mean.

#clownout = cancelled due to lack of interest.

I was hoping the Pats would throw a ton of money at Patricia and just give him head coaching compensation as a defensive coordinator. Why not? There's no salary cap on coaches, and good ones are worth a lot more the market currently dictates. If Patricia left, I would wish him the best (provided he doesn't Mangini us), but he strikes me of a more technical, gameplan-oriented guy than a delegating head coach. Then again, many would have said the same about Belichick years ago.

We're on to Training Camp.
