My final offer to Jackson would be 2 yrs 14 million.

I'd offer cooks 8-9 million per year. He's only 23, and he can do it all. He could be our future.

I wouldn't, he's a one trick pony in my book, go deep.

Elvis - Flowers - Hightower that would be serious heat on Third Downs I would take a flier on Elvis.

I agree on Cooks, he's really young and he can do everything.

Let's stop with the personal attacks and focus on football. My point I argued was desean Jackson is better than Danny Amendola. Do you agree or disagree?

You really should learn what a "personal attack" truly is.. Calling your posts BS and garbage isn't a personal attack.. It's a statement on the quality of your posts..

I believe that there are certain players Belichick comes across that he deems "special, " and if they become available he tries to get them. Cooks is one of those players, and he could be an All Pro in this system, so Belichick made s strong offer for him. That doesn't mean however that he will give anything to get him.

The only people reporting that the Patriots have made an offer and people not related to the Patriots..

Amendola has made 15.6m since 2013 while Jackson has made 31.2m in the same span of time. Relative to their earnings Amendola was the more impactful player and therefore had more value especially because it left money to pay for more depth on the roster.

Ok. Value is a different discussion, and my opinion may or may not be different. I was asking you about pure ability and production

God you are naive and awfully informed.

While you have a decent mind, you are incapable of having a conversation without resorting to personal attacks.

Here's the truth, none of us really know what BB thinks about certain players or what he plans to do. He is the most unpredictable man in football. But predictions are fun to talk about.

Glad to see we agree on cooks, unfortunately the price may be to steep. But damm, I'd love to see cooks in a patriots uniform.

One question for you lucked. Let's play out this scenario.

Saints accepted BBs offer of 32 overall for cooks.

Cooks is a free agent next year

How much would it take per year to lock up Cooks? What contract would BB offer?

I think the cumulative ability, production and injury risk of 3 players is preferable to Desean Jackson. Comparing player ability and production without looking at it through the prism of the salary cap is pointless.

You haven't seen any personal attacks. Your posts have been sticking out through the entire year which is why I remember your forum name.

You are naive to think that you will get Desean Jackson for 7m APY and your suggested price range for Cooks is awfully misinformed because his fifth year option alone will be somewhere north of 9m and then add 2 years of rising cap and projected great performance on top of that and you will have to offer him most probably somewhere in the range of 12-14m in two years to keep him. And if you don't keep him past those two years his age is meaningless because it makes no difference if he hits FA at 25 or 27 to you as the team that loses him.

Hopefully a scenario for one of Pats DBs..

I believe Cook is under contract for 2 more years

I agree with fnord. With a playoff game on the line, a clutch play needed, I want the ball to go to Dola, not DJ.

I can't remember the last pass DA flat out dropped. Certainly none in crucial situations.

If we want a premium receiver why not draft one with #32 and having him for 5 years on the cheap.

That kid from Washington looked good the few Washington games I watched, but I think he's already had knee surgery so after Easley I would be very careful taking a player with knee surgery history in the 1st round.

I don't think I would get Jackson for 7m APY. But I don't think he is worth more than that. I am banking on Jackson possibly taking a 1 year deal with patriots on a small discount to win a title.

No doubt cooks would be expensive. So why did BB offer 32 overall for him? What contract would BB offer if saints accepted?

I keep hearing this said about Desean Jackson, as if he just runs fly routes and YAC is never there. The way he was used in Philly under Chip Kelly, he ran a lot of qick slants and short crosses, using his quicknees to get open and then his speed to do damage. I don't want him at or near his rumored price, but I think he is highly skilled and not at all one dimensional.
