When you're forcing the ball into one or two of the reliable players you have left because everyone else is injured INTs are bound to be more likely.

When you're getting more pressure because the line is patchwork due to injuries INTs are bound to be more likely.

When you're not committing to run the ball because your OC wants to stretch the field or your team just can't seem to get anywhere with the running game INTs are bound to be more likely.

It's on Tom but there are factors that we've all seen that certainly play into it and I don't think any QB would be immune. Still, awful stats.

With or without context that's still an eye opening amount of interceptions during that span of playoff games.

I still love Touchdown Tommy and have faith that he'll get it done, even if he throws one INT a game.

In order for the Pats to have any chance of winning, Brady cannot allow even ONE
interception. There is no way that the Pats lose the turnover battle and win the game.

Not all interceptions are equal.

Throwing deep from your 35 and they intercept it on their 25 is effectively a punt. Throwing a pick from your 25 and they start in the red zone is much worse.

I think he just lets loose earlier in games and playoff defenses are better at making him pay for it.

I thought about trying to go into full passing splits by quarter in the playoffs to see if that was a trend, but it'd just take too much time for me.

Also, throwing a pass to a WR, who is new to the team, who didn't run his route correctly, and who tipped the ball into the hands of the defense is different than throwing a gift INT to a linebacker the QB never saw.

Remember he has played 4 less games this season so I hope that helps re: Int.

Most non Pats fans where I live say Pittsburgh wins if they rush Brady the entire game. They say history says it all.

I hope not, I can read the records but I want him to do well and win SB 5.

turnovers are not just INTs...Brady can certainly throw a pick and the Pats still win...

Good point.
Even Rowe's penalty in the Houston game is a quasi-turnover. The Patriots earned a possession by forcing fourth down but had it taken away. It is, in effect, the same as the Patriots receiving that punt and Brady throwing an Int to the spot of the Rowe penalty mark off.
The option to score a TD, score a FG or even to execute a good punt to improve the field position battle all matter. Whether by fumble, Int, penalty, whatever -- the same critical underlying thing is taken away.

As far as Brady's Ints? Surprise! he isn't perfect. Those who project perfection on him are acting a bit silly. Important considerations: not all Ints are created equal. A team behind in the second half and not able to move the ball effectively means a QB will take chances. Also, importantly, a QB's performance is a 4 quarter perspective. One stinker quarter can be irrelevant if 3 quarters are top tier and it leads to a win (winning!). So while Brady's 4 quarter performances in the POs haven't all been good -- TB as our QB means we always have had very tangible shots at top PO QB performance, an extreme fire to win, a real chance at getting the win.

Nice to see you shaking out your feathers to get ready for the game. Have you checked the sky yet?

No way around it, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers have had some terrible playoffs game.

STFU you troll.
No way around it, it seems ur panties r in a bunch....

Seriously.

Brady's thrown two picks in the Super Bowl and we won the game...

I hope we are winning by 3 scores in the 4th qtr and Brady intentionally throws a pic into a defenders hands with only 2 secs left on the clock, then throws up his hands and pumps his fist celebrating the PO int record....

No one loves INTs, but in order to win you have to risk losing. Sometimes you have to stick into a tight window on 3rd down and risk an INT. Check down and punt does not beat most really good teams. If he threw no INTs I bet his record would be worse - it would mean he was unwilling to make the tough throws. Try to avoid the killer INT and the pick 6 and play to win.

We can all agree that Brady needs to play much better to give the team a better chance to win. Turnover of any kind holds the team back.

No we don't all agree. Brady is fine

Yes he was. He made one bad decision

I counted at least 2 bad decisions and I am not even counting the off the hands of Floyd interception. If you count that then 3.

He completed 47% of his passes that is a record low for him.

I've said all week and since the first half of that game that the gameplan was questionable and 1 dimensional. I really couldn't ask Brady to do much more than he did considering the poor execution of the offensive line at times. (Texans deserve credit for that) And I don't count it, the ball was off the receivers hand.
