I still think Tim Hightower could be a good signing. Wouldn't take a lot of money and he would have a realistic chance of earning some playing time. Can run block and catch.

i had really figured that the Saints had resigned him already. I think i'd still prefer Bliunt just because we already know what he isTim Hightower was a revelation late in the year for New Orleans. He's definitely worth a look but will he be interested in joining a team where playing time isn't guaranteed for him, which isn't favorable for him assuming he's looking for a pay day eventually.
Strange that his numbers don't look so bad on paper though.
When our posters don't want a player, their actual production is irrelevant.
That's all because he's new to the position and runs upright still. Other than that, he's not like Jacobs.
The team may decide that adding a veteran and a late pick is enough for 2016.
1st round back: fa, Gaffney, Brown, 6th rounder
3rd down back: Lewis, White
STer - Bolden
Our first four picks COULD be among: OT, LB, WR and CB.
I actually somehow missed the fact that he was even playing anymore.
I think that kind of signing would be fine for adding some competition for the summer, but I don't know if we have room on the roster for a guy like him. With the addition of Brown (more potential fodder) and the expected selection of a draft pick or two, I'm wondering if the positional depth chart isn't getting a bit too crowded?
Lewis
White/Brown
Bolden
Expected draft selection

That's not even bringing up the possibility of a vet like Blount returning. Even if you assume that just ONE of White/Brown will make the team, that's still 5 right there without even bringing Blount back.
I think they will draft one too in either the 2nd or 3rd round. The Patriots still need a true first down back, even if they sign Blount. I will be shocked if they don't use one of their first 4 picks to fill that spot.
