NFL Playoffs: Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys - odds, stats, preview and prediction

So football is fixed? Why get so worked up over what is essentially wrestling? Why come to a site and post about the nuances of a scripted dance?

Controversial calls don't equal fixed games, delusions aside.

Controversial calls can mean fixed games, protestations aside. And that was absolutely pass interference on that play.

I'm surprised you'd be on THAT side of this issue. Do you honestly believe the Cowboys V Lions game was fixed DI?

Obviously anything is possible. But that possibility is very very unlikely.

I am out of here. Biggest call was the DPI pickup. It was DPI and it was defensive holding as well. Not good. Flying back to Sac tonight.

"Never touched him!!" screams ScumbagTrollFromPhilly.."and Sherman IS a genius with a master's degree!!!"...

Why? There's no doubt, at all, that professional sports games have been fixed in the past.

I think it's more likely that home cooking + horrible officiating was the issue, but I don't think Goodell would be above fixing games.

I honestly think the contact is negligible. The only thing peculiar was picking it up once it was called in the field. The actual infraction could've gone either way imo. We have all seen bang bang plays like this be non calls. The Kuechly non call was MUCH worse as he turned Gronk's body.

Which games? Due to nature of such allegations we have to be talking proof positive. The Pittsburgh SB officiating is probably your strongest case. We still have zero proof that it infact was a fixed outcome.

Go look it up, because I'm not making allegations of specific recent games. It's history from the old days in the NFL. In the NBA, it happened a lot more recently.

You know maybe its just me but I look for a flag after virtually every play. I didn't always feel this way. Its like the refs are part of the game instead of officiating they are playing a part in the outcome. Bad calls used to be unusual now I "expect" them. Sad state of NFL

Wasn't this the same ref that took away Polomalu's INT off Peyton in the 2005 AFC Championship game because of a "non football move" whatever that meant?

Why DO you have that signature? What kind of Patriot fan wants a massive picture in their signature that defends (with ********) the guy who got in Brady's face all hostile, after a 1 point home win, yelling "YOU MAD BRO?"

Why not have a picture of Suggs with Spygate quotes?

NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino is getting grilled on Twitter by fans and media. Remember he was caught leaving Jerry Jones' party bus last August.

wooooooo

Gotcha. I read the article and as you say it talks about nearly 3 decades ago. It also goes on to say the economics of today's NFL make this very unlikely.

The theme seems to be that the NFL fixes games, which seems incredibly unrealistic to me. It would almost HAVE to be a 3rd party, no? What would motivate the league to possibly ruin a cash cow? For 1 of 32 billionaires' chances of another playoff game? The nature of basketball also makes it easier, there are simply less people to payoff. How many people would it take for organized crime(who are nearly obsolete) to fix an NFL game?

The college basketball fixes are far more likely becuse you're dealing with kids and unpaid kids at that.

Me saying Sherman isn't a thug vs a billion dollar business being fixed and not a single self serving individual coming forward to collect the reward for whistleblowing in the history of said practice.

Seems legit.

I honestly would've retired it for 2015, but you and Parrothead's comments have only extended Mr. Sherman's stay.
"Mr. Sherman"? Oh, you mean JAPANESE DONKEY-PUNK.

I hate to admit you're correct about Japanese Donkey-Punk not being a thug, because he's too childish to qualify for genuine thugdom. Unfortunately, there's never been a bigger PUNK in the history of football. Pretty strange we have a member of Patsfans who worships a punk from another team in his own sig, especially a punk who tried to bait our own quarterback after a game. Remember your hero-punk's shenanigans that day?
