Realistically - What can we get for Asante Samuel?

Hmm you make a good point. Willis would be nice to have. But do you think it's worth the dropoff to Houston etc? I'm betting the Pats are suddenly investigating higher slotted players now if they are seriously considering moving Samuel rather than paying him.

IMO i have Houston rated higher than everyone but Hall.

Houston shut down several top end WR's this past year and hes been doing it his entire college career.

Also running in the 4.3's and benching 225 27 times also makes a good case for you. Good tackler and hitter.

I was just reading the thread at Extremeskins about this and it seems the fans are not very high on Carlos Rogers, seems he has a tendency to drop potential interceptions (somehow I remember Samuel doing the same thing early in his career too).

Let the Skins keep their picks, how about an old fashion player for player trade?

Carlos Rogers and Rocky McIntosh for Asante Samuel....works for me!

I like this idea alot! Like I said anything to get mchintosh on the pats he will be a stud in our defense.

And will be under utilized in the redskins defense.

Plus is cheap for like 4 more years!

I don't know league personnel, but wouldn't this be a way to get our young vet LB? Plus a pick depending on the talent.

Same as Branch, a mid-late first would be very nice compensation.

How about 28 and Samuel for 6 and their second rounder

take Landry with 6
take Houston with 24
take David Harris with the secound rounder

Mid to late first for Samuel would be a steal.

Don't think Washington trades two guys on rookie contracts for a guy they have to pay FA money to.

Acually that is the exact type of thing Dan Synder does

That'd be all well and good, save for the fact that the Deadskins don't have a second-rounder. Or a third. Or a fourth.

I'd take a 2008 second, though.

Can we please move off the McCauley bandwagon? The guy was benched by his coach for the final MONTH of the season. He's likely not even going to be a 2nd rounder, let alone a #28 overall.

He has the most talent of any CB on the board. He had a bad year. Yes, he is a gamble. Aren't they all though? Please don't tell me your bandwagon is 5' 8" Ellis Wilson? Just joking, but if he is, we don't need a nickel back as he has been described by the scribes.
Give me another choice at CB although I like Revis and Ross.

From what I understand the Skins seem inordinately high on McIntosh. That player was the dealbreaker in the Briggs trade that fell through. Chicago asked for Washington to throw in McIntosh and the Skins refused.
I think we'll have to settle for draft choices. Which is not necessarily a bad thing since they are usually more easily traded.

My favorite ? New Orleans' #1 in 2008 plus whatever we can get this year. A #2 would be awesome, I'd probably take a #3 (remembering their picks this year are low).

I know we could probably get slightly more if we targeted 08 picks, but Asante being gone either leaves a hole at CB or S. If Asante goes, I'd assume Wilson moves to CB, but I could be wrong.

Why not Asante for NO's 07 pick (27) + their third round pick (88).

To me, I think that seems fair for both teams.

I don't see anyone in the 10-20 range giving up their pick for Asante, there are cheaper, albeit less proven, options at DB in that range.

Anyway, if we had pick 24, 27, 28, we could use two of them to move up into that 10-20 range and get Willis, Landry or Revis and still have another first round pick.
