Not seeing it anywhere in the press. I figured some ppl on the board might know....

According to my calculations... Nothing we broke! Lol

Pretty much. Probably enough to sign rookies but until someone gets cut, pats are used up.

My guess is $1M, $3M, $7M with a $6M bonus. This is consistent with the original leak/suggest of 2/$10M. That would mean a 2014 cap cost of $3M.

Browners contract structure has not been released yet.

Sounds about right. And if true that would give the Pats around $7.5M in cap space(after Revis officially signs)

That should be about right as we had around $17M and used about $10M on the DBs.

However if we do go ahead and release Vince, we'd be back up to about $15M.

Yes, $7.5M, with Wilfork still on the roster. So, team can afford to sign a couple of more players to similar contracts (perhaps with a smaller third year) before the they need to deal with Wilfork's contract.

As we pass the middle of the first week, two more seem possible in this first week, Edelman and one more.

My guess is Browner's hit won't be more than $3m for next season and when/if Vince guts cut they'll will have about $15m left.

But there are still some things they can do to get more space (McCourty, Gostkowski, Connolly. Slater could also be extended and knock his cap hit down from the $2.2m it is going to be)

I don't expect Browner's contract to hit our cap too hard this year... suspension will probably lower the first year cap hit.

Remember Revis deal isn't on the books yet becasue he hasn't officially signed. Once it's on the book i can bet that will be the time Wilfrok is released

I hate to see Vince go, but it is time and Bianca needs the money. I see a cheap replacement (Raji got $4mm!). I say Terrance Cody could be had for almost minimum. He is behind Ngata so that won't work for him to start. This kid could take over a game at Alabama. He has had some nicks since drafted second round and the Ravens would have Drafted him in the first. . I can't see him being much worse than hoping Nix falls to us. Plus Cody has NFL tape and only 25. If we release VW this might help CAP wise and he is a run stuffer. He is 6'4" and 340.

i heard some where that he wont be paid for the first 8 games so does that mean his cap hit will only be half a season ?

Cody's been oft injured and has played poorly. Taking a flier on him as a depth guy is one thing. Thinking he's your Wilfork replacement is a whole other kettle of fish.

That's a two year contract and that would be a great contract for the pats

Not by that much, since first year salary would have been low in any event. (And being suspended he'll want to make sure it's very low ...)

This is from Miguel last night on twitter with me

@smith0624 Let's say Browner's 14 salary is 1.7m. Salary would count 1.3m (100K X13 weeks). Cap number =salary+SB+roster+workout.

that would be a great structure
