Free Agent Signings around the League

do you make any sense of this signing? They start a fight with Graham over money, they cut Sproles over peanuts and then they make THIS signing? I must be missing something..

They haven't even cut/traded Sproles yet. Unless Bryd has a small cap number yr 1 the Saints still need to cut a lot of money to fit Byrd under

sorry...Sproles will be traded...once again, why?

we need a Saints fan to explain this...

He is out the first four weeks.

Ya so?

Sign him and Talib.

Now you have a guy that might be able to fill in the middle of the season if Talib gets hurt.

Browner is a big candidate for a 1 year minimal money prove it deal

6 year means squat. Can't amortize the signing bonus into it.. Doubt that Byrd will see that year.

Polian on Sirius NFL just now said that it's really 4 years @ $7 million. The rest of it is smoke and mirrors to make the agent look like he got Byrd his asking price ($9 million a year).

I would sign Browner and put him at safety opposite McCourty personally.

Talib at Verner's level of contract, Browner cheap, and Henry Melton would still be a great free agency on the defensive side.

Honestly, I would love to have Henry Melton.
Henry Melton - Chicago Bears - 2014 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

The Cowboys' official website reports the team is targeting free agent DT Henry Melton, and that there's "lots of mutual interest."

According to writer Jeff Sullivan, a deal "could happen quickly." The Cowboys are desperately thin along their defensive line, and have made Dallas-native Melton their top target. Melton hasn't been linked to any other teams.

First let me apologize for overacting to the lack of activity by the Patriots, I should have expected it as it is how we handle UFA every year.

The good news is there are many players on the board still that can make this team a championship roster. These are some players I would like to see on board –

RB
- LeGarrette Blount
- Toby Gerhart
WR
- Julian Edelman
- Emmanuel Sanders
- Sidney Rice
- Brandon LaFell
TE
- Scott Chandler
- Garrett Graham
OL
- Jason Fox
- Will Svitek
- Eben Britton
- Davin Joseph
- Evan Dietrich-Smith
- Ryan Wendell
DE
- Julius Peppers
- Jared Allen
- Demarcus Ware
- LaMarr Woodley
- Mike Neal
- Anthony Spencer
DL
- Randy Starks
- Pat Sims
- Vaughn Martin
LB
- Wesley Woodward
- Dane Fletcher
- Pat Angerer
CB
- Darrell Revis (Trade)
- Aqib Talib
- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
- Antonio Cromartie
S
- Chris Clemons
- Thomas DeCoud
- Kendrick Lewis

You've left off 1 player of note: Cleveland OC Alex Mack. True, he's been designated with the transition tag, giving the Browns the right to match any offer. But he hasn't signed the tag, and is able to test offers in free agency. I think that if Cleveland hadn't used the transition tag on Mack , he would be long gone by now.

Just as a hypothetical, if the Pats re-signed Talib and signed Mack, would anyone be complaining? Of all the players signed today, the only one I would personally have taken over Mack as an external FA addition to the team would have been Lamarr Houston.

Obviously, it's a long shot. But again, there's still plenty of ways left to add value to the team.

They have to be planning Revised Talib and Allen or Ware or Melton.
I know BB would love to stick it to Rex just cough up a third keep him away for the Jets.
Sign Talib at 10.5 mill a year Revis 16 mill a year.
Allen or Ware 10 a mill I can help.

Fixed it for ya

I am wondering if the Saints have a trade lined up for Graham. Because before signing Byrd they had $1.9m under the cap. And looking at their cap Sproles nets them 3.5 which would make Byrd have to have a cap hit of 5.4 or less without any other moves.

I would love to have Mack. He is right behind Revis as players I would want most.

Mack is a beast but I'd rather have Revis or Ware.
Mack is a good consolation prize.

Albert Breer ? @AlbertBreer

Broncos trying to get a deal done with Cowboys free-agent DeMarcus Ware. @johnelway flexing his recruiting muscle again.

MAtter of time it seems

No no no no no Bill get on The phone and block that.

Alterraun Verner agreed toTampa Bay on a four-year, $26 million deal with $14 million guaranteed, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.

A lot less than expected.

Something like that. I figured them to purge, not add.
