I said he is overrated as a talent with regards to his athletic ability. Which he is.

Talent and athleticism are not even remotely - not even in the same universe - the same thing. As others have pointed out, some of the most remarkable wide receivers in NFL history have not been athletic freaks, and athletic freaks like Bethel Johnson wash out regularly. Blackmon is an exceptional wide receiver. Thompkins is a borderline NFL player. Their 40 times are completely inconsequential.

I pointed out that Blackmon is not an athletic freak. He is very good when on the field but that is reliant on his attributes and technique which given his mental makeup aren't a given. A player like Randy Moss possessed the type of physical gifts that even when he was a head case he was still something teams had to fear and prepare for; personally I don't think Blackmon offers that

Moss was an absolute phenom, not only did he have freakish athletic abilities but also had outstanding football skills. He was not a once in a generation talent, you probably need a few generations before you'll come across someone like him again.

I don't know why you're comparing Blackmon to him, IMO the only relevant question regarding Blackmkon are the alternatives, and it's not like Moss is available for a 4th round pick this offseason. Blackmon might be a solid FA pickup this offseason but I think BB would only agree if Blackmon was open to a very strict agreement.

unless the kid is taking vet minimum hes not worth it. hes one issue away from a year off.

Justin Blackmon is due to make $2,072,910, non-guaranteed, for each of the next two seasons. If he's traded, all the dead money would stay with the Jags.

Given that Patriots thinking was that Amendola was worth it for $5m, I'd have a hard time with them saying Blackmon's not worth $2m and a 4th round pick.

Ok, this trade needs to be done ASAP. I may even offer the 91st overall pick. An elite WR making peanuts for two more years and the only "risk" is wasting a late 3rd round pick....yes please.

if none of its guarenteed, and we can get him for say a third, i'd be okay with it.
