Patriots CUTS

I suspect that we'll see a corner signed tomorrow, perhaps being back Moore.

I've always wondered if Moore wouldn't be better suited to play safety rather than cornerback? He has shown brief flashes for us before and when DAL was getting eaten alive by PIT (Roethlisberger to TE Heath Miller), the Cowboys adjusted at halftime and Moore did a great job of shutting down that connection in the second half. He was able to cover the bigger TE very nicely and this adjustment allowed DAL to beat PIT in overtime 27-24.

He seems to be somewhat slow to me at CB however, especially in man coverage. This is an obvious glaring weakness of course, yet when paired in bracket coverage Moore did a great job of holding Larry Fitzgerald to practically nothing, so he does have some skillset--albeit limited.

I'm no expert but that is something that I've wondered before. I think I remember Deus Irae strongly disagreeing with this notion, but I can't remember specifically why--aside from my assumption that he never much cared for Moore's talent to begin with.

Another Rutgers cat?

Ok seriously. At first I thought he was just guilty of going to the same well once too often.

Then he brought in more Rutgers players and I thought he was just ******* with us for a laugh.

Now he's going after more Rutgers players and at this point I he's like the crazy cat lady but for rutgers players instead of stray cats.

No AC tonight
Too tired to stay up, too wound up to sleep
"Me" no likey Moore
"Me" starting to get genuinely frustrated with some of BB's screwups, because so many of the big ones were easy to see and avoid, even for a bunch of geeks on a message board.

...tough combination, so I decided on a gif instead of a post, only to find you mentioning me. That brought out a good chuckle, so thanks for that.

You could be right.

In any case, he may be worth having on the roster as an emergency DB. After all, we're down to 4 vets, 2 2nd year players, 2 rooks and Ebner.

Miguel's UNOFFICIAL 2013 Patriots Salary Cap Information Page

The cap limit for the 2013 season is $123 million. The Patriots' adjusted cap number is $129,656,344. I have the Patriots' 2013 dead money as $12,980,097. I have two players (Adrian Wilson and Jermaine Cunningham) who otherwise would have been in the Top 51 on injured reserve. Their caps totals $2,272,708. $2,272,708 +$102,311,457 + $12,980,097 = $117,564,262. Therefore, I have the Patriots under their adjusted cap limit by about $12.1 million.

So which is it: 7 or 12?

From all accounts I was under the impression that prior to the recent cutdowns, we were at approx. 10 to 10.5 million under the cap, so the "new" number of 12.1 would make sense.

Of course Miguel is the obvious expert here so I'd never question what his numbers were, but it's possible that he was referring to something else that we don't initially understand with his note about NE being at least 7m under the cap for the 2013 season. Then again, 12.1 million (at the current moment) would indeed be over 7m technically, so it's also possible that was just a rough projection that he came up with prior to some other monies being due.

Green Bay is 18 million 330 thousand UNDER the cap

The Bengals?....28 million +

The Bills? 16 million

Dolphins ? 15 million 700 thousand

Eagles and the Bucs?..both 26 million plus UNDER THE CAP

The Jets? 13 million...

Thanks for the link, Joker. At the moment this NFL.com site projects the NE Patriots to be roughly 13.4 million under the cap at the current moment.

On the contrary, Dallas is about 50k under...talk about 2 differently run organizations.

Is that list accurate? "Updated: March 27th, 2013."

and here's Sportstrac's unofficial cap lisitng as of 9/1/2013

There are 2 very different situations. First there is the 51 situation that we have been operating under for months.

After the final 53, we are liable for Player 52, Player 53, all the IR players, player on NFI, the dead money, and the Players on the Practice Squad. Also, Miguel's numbers are current. Most other folks (especially official lists) take a week to incorporate all the changes.

As time goes on, there are also injury settlements. I would note that Miguel usually includes the entire cost of the Practice Squad for the year, rather than making weekly changes.

So, I expect the numbers to be closer in a couple of weeks.

Well here it is at last. Written proof that even BB admits he has no idea what he's doing.
