The Official Patriots vs Buc's Pre-Season Game Thread

If they cut a promising young guy to keep turd-bow then the players should mutiny. He is an utter disgrace.

This so-called 'new offense' that has been installed has about 5-10 plays in it.

Certainly the other side of the coin, and something that I've thought about too. This specific "package" that we here about likely doesn't involve the height of complexity.

Either way, I think it's pretty safe to say that he'll be here through 8/31. Odds are that he's gone after that, but I'll still be somewhat skeptical until it happens just b/c the whole process has been so darn weird from the beginning.

Every team that tebow has been on has been better the year after he left so far(lets see how the jets do)

So next year im predicting superbowl.

That's what I keep having a hard time with myself. That, and the fact that I don't feel that Belichick would normally have wasted time like this over one player.

You'd also have to assume that Belichick and Co. were well aware of the fact that Tebow sucks at throwing the ball.

I'm by no means claiming that he'll be kept. I'm just saying that I wonder if it's as clear cut as many here think.

The whole situation has been weird, so it's not surprising that it continues to be controversial up until the final minute.

SF I honestly think he is simply running the scout team offensive sets that we had in place for years with Edelman running them for defensive preparation purposes. I don't think we installed anything for Tebow.

sample size: 1 team that signed Peyton Manning.

Exactly what I keep trying to explain to my wife. Unfortunately her reply is that "it's only one player, what's the difference?"

Needless to say, she's a Cowboys fan :)

But "offense" suggests positive, not negative, yards. Can we really call THAT offense?
Question: What do you think about the execution of the Tim Tebow offense?

Answer: I'm all for it!

This is all about BB doing a solid for Tebow. If Tebow makes it through the first cut, he will play all four quarters in the final game and then get cut.

Then the dozens of people who bought a Tebow jersey can frame it or put it in a box.

It was the fact that they put in a new offense for the guy. Not something you do for a 'camp arm'.

We have always had Edelman run the scout team offense, using those type of sets to prepare the defense for games against mobile QB's. We did not install anything for Tebow, we created an offense to prepare our defense for players like Manual, G. Smith, Newton and any other mobile QB they will have to face off against this season.

You may very well be correct. This specialized package that is getting so much attention may have been put together in 30 minutes, or as you said--it may have already been in place (at least the majority of it).

There's still some unrealistic part of me that's 1/2 expecting Belichick to keep him and I think that stems from still being in shock that it happened to begin with.

As dumb as it sounds, the whole PR aspect of your sentence may be part of why I'm somewhat skeptical that he'll be cut.

It's something that defies all common sense, but then again--so did the initial decision of bringing him here.

I think he stays, too, but as a favor to Josh, not to Tebow himself.

No they didn't. They put in a couple of plays.

I they thought they would cut him why would they print and sell his jerseys even before the season started. Granted its just jerseys and business call but doesnt seem right unless they have plans to keep him.

I don't think BB & co. give much inside info on personnel plans to the ProShop manager. :) It's not terribly uncommon to see jerseys made early on for players who don't stick. E.g., I remember John Lynch jerseys being available during his training camp.

We agree.

Maybe he could be official greeter.

he already is...haven't you heard about the post practice meet and greets hosted by the Teebs?

Why dosent Tebow just retire? It is not like he has a future in football. He could make a lot more money speaking at churches all over the country. Christian nuts would pay a fortune to see him in person.
