I’m not Belichick01… so that has nothing to do with me and I shouldn’t be disrespected or mistreated because of it, I am one of the most respectful and fair members in this forum, I never insult people personally and seldom argue with anyone, what he said and did is completely unacceptable, and what another person did to him does nothing to excuse or justify his behavior.

Ummmmm........

5. I do not like the irrational crap Tebow fans toss around in here just for the sake of it; it is redundant and often times baseless. I also find it bothersome that there is a handful of more who hope to see Brady miss time just so they can see their beloved Tebow on the football field, which was telling when you saw several notable Tebow fans not make a single post in the Brady knee injury thread.

Guess I'm trying to square the top statement with this earlier post.....

I like to check in this thread every few days to stare. This **** is hilarious.

I see the wreckage has yet to be cleared from the fifty car pileup on the expressway.

Guess I'm trying to square the top statement with this earlier post.....

What I said is true and you yet again finding some way to tie things together to create yet another immature confrontation where you attempt to as you like to put it "got me" only serves to validate my statement that what is thrown around in here is more about malice nonsense than it is about the NFL, the Patriots or any football in general.

Grown men should not and I repeat should not be getting off on fighting with other grown men in a sports forum. I discuss facts and try and look at the best fit for the Patriots final roster, you appear to use this site as your "guilty little pleasure". Do your thing Demo but don't expect me to hold what it is you do in here in high regard.

Question for ya Brady. When Mallett was drafted, were you upset that Hoyer wasn't released ?

Do you want me to pretend to be to stupid to realize where you're going with this?

Mallett was a top 25 talent that dropped because of character concerns, Brady was not signed to a contract putting him at age 40 upon retirement, therefore I could look at Mallett as an investment for future trade value or the heir apparent to Brady if he retired at the end of his contract at the time. We also didn't have as much youth at key positions that would benefit from an extra player being kept for security. Totally different than the current Tebow situation, baring something unforeseen Tebow will be 31 when Brady retires, Tebow has no future trade value to speak of, and Tebow has already proven incapable of being a NFL quarterback while on 2 different teams.

But to answer your question I was still hopeful they'd trade Hoyer and keep only Mallett behind Brady.

See your biggest issue is you're acting under the absurd notion that I have something against Tebow and his fans; but I don't so your silly attempt to discredit me consistently go unsuccessful because I'm simply discussing logic and using tangible items to do so.

This thread is like watching another Allstate "Mayhem" commercial.

1) I didn't like the pick of Mallett.

2) He was clearly not ready to be the backup.

3) Belichick used a 3rd rounder and a roster spot to try to improve over Hoyer who could have been gone after the season.

4) Yes, I accepted Belichick's idea that it was worth a 3rd to get Hoyer insurance. After all, most folks figured that we could get the pick back later, if we decided to extend Hoyer.

5) And here we are, many of us wishing that we still had Hoyer and the 3rd rounder.
============================

As far as the parallel, I think that it is flawed. We didn't know what we had in Mallett. He was right out of college. We needed to know what he would be like with a bit of NFL experience and practice under his belt. We needed to see his character up close and personal. We've found out.

In the case of Tebow, we don't need to wait. We have a body of evidence to work upon. Unless we wish to bet on one the biggest turnarounds in the history of the NFL, it seem very unlikely that waiting a year will give us a top backup in Tebow.

But, yes, Belichick might again have a competition for #2 which could last for 1-2 seasons, hoping to trade the loser of the competition and extend the other. It's possible. It's consistent with past actions by Belichick. I just don't like it.

No, what you said was neither true or could even be supported by deductive reasoning. You ACCUSED many of the Tebow supporters here of hoping that Brady had an injury. Actually, that accusation was more widespread because you said "a handful of Tebow supporters" who had that hope, and the fact is, there are only a "handful" of us here to begin with.

So quit playing the martyr card.

:wha:

:enranged:

Dishonest claim, what are you talking about; you don’t even know me, yet you feel entitled enough to pass judgment on my integrity, and then broadcast that judgment in a public online forum? I’m not particularly sure what makes you think it is ok to disparage people you don’t even know but I can tell you I do not appreciate it what so ever, you should of waited to hear my response before spewing your slanderous and untruthful nonsense across this board.

:nono2o not let this happen again; I show you respect, I expect you to reciprocate. Do we have an understanding Awesomo 3000?

I think you mistook my intent. Sorry for the mixup. I wasn't attacking your character or integrity. I was simply saying that you're making a dishonest claim. Most people do it from time to time, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by accident.

I was just pointing out that this is not simply about "having a 3rd qb on the roster". You have made posts in the past which very clearly display your disdain for Tebow, and people like him. I'm not going to dig them up and post them here (they're pushing the CoC envelope pretty tight, even for this thread).
But you know without a doubt that this is about more than just football talk.

You may very well not like having a 3rd qb. That's perfectly fine. But pretending that this is your main beef, here, is, wait for it... dishonest.

1. I have no issue with Tebow personally, but I’m not looking for 53 people to my friends; I am looking for players that will help the team I support win a championship in 2013 or beyond. I commend players for their off the field activities but because I do not know them personally, along my personal policy of never judging a book by its cover I do not use these activates to determine my opinion of them, I rely solely on measurable, statistics, and live game tape.

But you do have issues with him, and it's very personal. You've posted very plainly about experiences in your childhood, and why you despise folks like him. You know the posts, and I'm not going to dig them up. You don't have to pretend it's not personal. Your philosophical differences with him are valid, and I won't pretend to judge whether you're right or wrong on it. But stop pretending that it isn't personal.

4. I do not want Tebow to be cut; I want them to place him on the non-football reserve list for 2013, and work with him behind the scenes. I also feel if you look at his contract (link below) it is built to support him going to some type of reserve list for the season.

"I do not want Tebow to be cut; I want them to place him on the cut list".

Show me the posts where people want Brady to miss time. Please.

And I can't speak for everybody, but I don't post in the Brady knee thread because that is more "pats fans" territory, and simply posting there is much more likely to raise the ire of some of the more "territorial" members of the board.

6. I do not understand how grown men can be so passionate about another man that they’ve never even stood fact to face with; and I do not understand if it is based around religion why other Christian players in the NFL do not receive the same level of support.

"I do not understand how grown men can be so passionate about [53 men on a football team] that they've never even stood fact to face with"
7. I do not understand how anyone can lobby that Tebow’s performance as QB overall in 2011 was good, his playoff game against Pittsburg was good but his overall body of work was poor to say the least.

It couldn't be that he helped spark a 1-4 team to turn their season around, make it to the playoffs, and stomp the ..... out of the Steelers? Nah... Couldn't be that...

You don't have to take any of these disagreements as personal attacks. I just happen to disagree with almost everything you say.

Wrong. I don't think that you actually have something against Tebow. Rather, I think that something has blinded you when it comes to looking at the kid rationally, because so far, you haven't even come close to doing so.

Question for ya Brady. When Mallett was drafted, were you upset that Hoyer wasn't released ?

Nope. Based on his college career, I doubted that Mallett was ready to be the backup as a rookie.

I get that you don't like it. That said, I keep seeing people talk about how "the Pats only carry 2 QBs" as if it's a fact. As you just noted, it isn't. Since he's been here, Bill has carried more than 2 QBs most the time IIRC.

In other news, Area 51 has been officially acknowledged to exist today by the US government...you know what THAT means....

Belichick also signed AJ Edds. Do you think we should therefore give Edds the benefit of the doubt and count that as an indication that he's a good player and intriguing prospect?

If AJ Edds was someone that interested BB at draft time, interested Our OC enough that he drafted him in the first round then yes. If BB gives AJ Edds extensive one one time with a coach then yes. If the team installs specific plays for AJ Edds then yes. If BB spent all weekend discussing whether to sign AJ Edds then yes. If AJ Edds had an elite level of athleticism/size, then yes.

Actually, whether you are intrigued by Tebow is entirely up to you, I don't really mind one way or another but those are the reasons why I'm intrigued by Tebow.

The story would really have "legs" (or "antennas") if Tim Tebow was born in Roswell, New Mexico.

well...he tried to be born there ...but fell short by about 8000 miles it looks like...

All this "not real fans like us" stuff comes across as pathetic and clingy. Like "I will not open my heart to you and be your friend because you are not what you seem. The rest of us Pats fans have a special bond."

Get over it. It's the internet. Makes for many fellow travelers. You're not looking for friends, neither are we. Tebow's going to ride the pine, assuming he even makes the squad. Quit expending oxygen over the issue of of Tebow's fans not being real Pats fans. Everybody starts following a team sometime over some development -- it either sticks or it doesn't.

Nut uh, you stop expending oxygen over me expending oxygen over whatever the hell it is. Yes, it is the internet, specifically, an internet discussion board.

Discuss.
