Sources confirm that Pats have moved on from Welker and they will definitely not be picking up Lloyd's option.

And those sources would be . . . ?

give me grimes and aso with ed reed please

When teams go out and spend big, the cap comes back to haunt them. The Patriots have consistently been in solid position to build and contend.

Most of us expected lower to middle tier type signings, not high priced moves. If someone is actually complaining because they realistically thought that Wallace and Kruger were viable options, that's their stupidity.

No one is saying to "spend big," and no one is saying to disregard the salary cap now or in the future. They set themselves up to fill needs and make improvements with 25 million dollars worth of room. At this point it is just about waiting for the market to level off with more reasonable signings, which could help OR hurt them significantly.

And if Welker leaves and they seriously are thinking about cutting Llyod too, then one would assume they'd be spending some of that money on replacement ideas or contingency plans. Waiting too long may prove to be a problem, especially when you're this close to winning the whole thing again. That however, is entirely different than what you're addressing.

The Grimes situation is going to benefit both parties if he stays on a one year deal for around 7 million or so. He obviously wants to prove that he belongs in the long term big money tier of CBs, but realizes that he isn't going to be able to do that at the moment unless someone really gambles big and overpays for him coming off of an Achilles injury which isn't likely to happen.

Maybe Tampa somehow gambles and throws enough money at him to get him to accept a longer term deal, but I think that'd have to be around 8-9 million aav per year, and they'd have to be morons to do that; otherwise, he'll want to hold off on anything longer term so that he can get his big payday next March.

If we took him, it'd likely have to be either on a longer term deal or a 1-2 yr deal with better aav than Atlanta's offering. I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time imagining Belichick doing either one of those options.

resign welker, talib and all other key FA.

cut lloyd

sign nnamdi, ed reed, WR

draft WR, RT, DT

glad that bust Chung is gone. Soon will be Ras IR Dowling and that JAG Wilson. Please BB, no more.

I'm sorry, but your evaluations are worthless. Calling Wilson a JAG after one season? Seriously? Please do everyone a favor and disappear back to whatever cave you were hiding out in during the regular season so we don't have to have our time wasted anymore..

Percy Harvin 6/65/15 not a terrible contract like expected.

An interesting note on this.. The SB can only be amortized over the 1st 5 years of the contract.. Year 6 is basically a throw away year..

I don't know the annual salaries. Do you? The sixth year is available for later restructures.

watch the Patriots steal the next three days

Who is your "SOURCE" ? That FRAUD, Ian Rapoport who basically plagiarized Karen Guregian earlier today????

Nope.. But it would be interesting to find out.. Especially if that 6th year is a big salary..

I didn't realize yours were, some nerd with over 20,000 posts playing elitist. Thanks for the laugh. I have this thing called a life, sorry I didn't make myself more available to you.

Wilson is another horrible reach btw, and when he does get cut in the coming seasons you'll still be in denial which you are with every BB mistake.
