I read somewhere that the Saints are likely to cut Will Smith because he has a $10 million cap hit and he is a pure 4-3 DE and they are moving to a 3-4. he might be a guy the Pats might want to look into.

If he can play like he did in 2009 he's worth a look. He wasn't anything special last year but that whole defense sucked so I don't know how much he is to blame without watching their games more closely.

I liked Johnny Patrick coming out of Louisville a couple years ago. He's a decent zone CB and a ballhawk........or at least he was. Must have really sucked though to get cut by the Saints of all defenses.

Breaston rode the bench for most of last year, and he claimed that he didn't know why. The Chiefs film every one of their practices, and Reid had access to those tapes. Breaston got cut.

That's awfully red flaggish, to me, particularly since Reid's a guy who loves to throw the ball.


Also, as a side note, Boss needs to retire. It's a shame, but he's another of the concussion guys.

I'd be happy to have Breaston on a team friendly contract as the #3. Let's face it, the Chiefs passing O has been awful in recent times.

Someone from K.C. to keep an eye on is the DE, Jackson. He's got a huge cap number and will either restructure or get cut. If he gets cut loose, I could see the Patriots having some interest in him.
