Butler has made more good plays in his second year than Asante had.

The WHY did they draft another CB at #33???????? Are you telling me the Pats used the first pick in the second round for their 5th CB??

Yeah, great point, dude. Being that we're IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SECOND ROUND and have two picks left.

Oh, who am I kidding. Arguing with a guy who put Brandon Tate on a list of defensive backs.
Teddy has brain freeze...

Just returned from dinner and saw that Jenkins & Reed are gone. I'll bet it's been fun here, huh? ;)

Yup. Someone opened up a can of Binkie-Be-Gone and sprayed it all over this round.

Did you hear that the lockout is back on before you left?

Did Texans pick Reed with 42? ESPN has Bowers asa their pick, so I'm a bit confused.

BB..please take Bowers...Ted 's head will explode..thanx

Dowling is a Corner that gives BB flexiblity at the position. Just because some here wanted Brooks Reed at 17 or 28, just look around, he went in the 40's because these teams have a ton more info than all of us combined.

Now, I have proof that I had Dowling as the 2nd best corner in this draft on my list and said he would go in the 2nd. I emailed my friend(an upset Falcons fan on tuesday that I loved me some Ras-I-Dowling.

When the Patriots end up addressing the pass rush in this draft, I hope all of the whiners in here can take a voluntary hiatus and have their heads examined.
This will be the last time i mention this for tonight because i know i'm beating a dead horse and it can get annoying. I've been waiting to draft a good pass rusher for Five years. Cunningham Might be Part of the solution but he needs Help. We seem to spend a lot of high picks on DB's half of whom pan out, and a lot of low round picks on the DL most of whom don't pan out. I'd like to reverse that some year.

All I'm saying is you don't give up on a second year player.

Alright, here's my list of potential Pats, using Gosselin's Top 100. I won't stray too far away from #56:

42, Daniel Thomas RB Kansas State
56, Will Rackley G Lehigh
58, Allen Bailey DE Miami
68, Shane Vereen RB California
74, Kendall Hunter RB Oklahoma State
81, Ben Ijalana G Villanova

Because we all know that you find pass rushers in the later rounds.....

Oh wait Tully was a seventh round pick and look how good he is

Cameron Wake UDFA
James Harrison UDFA
Osi Umenyora late round
Jared Alklen 4th round
Elvis Dumervil 4th round
Trent Cole 5th round

You sir are an idiot

LOL , I said in the first round thread that BB might pick another CB and he DID. I don't think a pass rusher is on BB's priority list at all.

Osi was in the second round.

Because Dowling will most likely play safety and not corner. He may moonlight as a corner like Chung, but his best fit will be at safety.

Also, don't forget that the DB depth falls off dramatically now, yet there are still a bunch of pass rushers available. The ones left might not be your favorite, but BB might prefer one of them and him and his staff knows more about these guys than you or I do.

SAFETY? HE IS MADE OF GLASSS! So Merriweather is gone now?????

Don't they already have ten of them too?

Ok, only 9 more picks to our turn.

Yeah, I think those types of posts go on the other draft thread.
a lot of forums have rules prohibiting pick spoiling. Its generaly frowned upon, kind of like masturbating on an airplane.
Reiss just linked to a video on Dowling. Sounds like a super character guy and team leader:

From U-Va: Get to know Ras-I Dowling - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

great to hear but if he's going to make an impact he needs to be on the field.

Check out Orlando Franklin's face. Dude looks nasty. LOL. He scares me!

you haven't met my ex-wife ,obviously...scaaaarrrrrrrryyyyyyy....

I still don't get all the love for the Saints first round.
Taking Ingram is just simply stupid.
You have Pierrem Thomas who is really good, Reggie Bush is one of the most talented backs in the league, and Chris Ivory a rookie who has a bright future ahead of him, and you take another RB?
You can make the excuse that they're injuried too often, so you pick a guy with one knee?
Doesn't make sense to me.

Well, its also a strategic move for the saints. All of our RB were out last year, so its also insurance. If the Saints did not take Mark Ingram, the Falcons would have. So they would have 2 pretty good RB's. Now we can trade a bit if we have to, and it puts R. Bush in a spot during contract negotiations. Ivory has a history of injury form college, because he hits way to hard. I don't think it was a bad move considering last years injury disaster, and the last thing we want to do is give a team in our division a decent RB.
