Butler allowed nearly identical numbers in coverage compared to Cromartie just on a smaller scale. Cromartie is much more gifted and a better ballhawk while Butler is more physical. I prefer the playmaking corner so in my opinion I'll take Cromartie.
Darius Butler (2009): 35 tackles, 8 passes defensed, 3 INTs, 91 RY's, 1 TD
Antonio Cromartie (2009): 33 tackles, 10 passes defensed, 3 INT's, 17 RY's, 0 TD's
Cromartie started in all 16 games for the Chargers. Butler started in 5. We've now established that Butler is the more willing and able tackler, is just as much (if not more) of a ballhawk than Cromartie is, and is more dangerous with the ball in his hands afterward. On top of that, Cromartie is said to be as dumb as a rock (couldn't even pick up the FSU playbook) while Butler seems to be pretty bright. Like I said in my original statement, Butler > Cromartie.
McCourtney and Wilson have never played a single down in the NFL but Wilson was rated higher then McCourtney for almost everyone. Let's just call this one TBD.
Based on what I've seen in post draft write-ups and videos of their college careers, McCourty appears to be the better pure cornerback. As for the scouting reports, both have the same measurables (height, weight, 40 time). Both seem to have good ball skills and good instincts. McCourty seems to pass Wilson as a more dangerous return man and did it against better (though not much better) competition in the Big East. I'm not sure what you mean by "everyone" having Wilson ranked higher. For instance, WalterFootball had Wilson ranked #2 and McCourty ranked #3...

...while Gil Brandt on NFL.com had McCourty ranked #4 and Wilson ranked #14 out of all senior cornerbacks.
Senior class of cornerbacks solid heading into 2010 draft
All in all, we can only judge by what they've done in college. But, based on what I've seen, McCourty appears to be the better all around threat. We shall see.
We don't have Strickland anymore but we still have Lowery. I don't know enough about Wilhitte to make a call so tis whatever i'll take a toss up. If he is a solid cover corner I'll take your guy.
Eh, it's a wash.
I think both your safeties are better. Overall I think the Jets have more potential because of our trio at CB and their outstanding upside IMO.
One of them is possibly the best CB in the league, the other is an overrated idiot who got outperformed in 2009 by our rookie, and the third is a rookie. Like I said before, I'd take our entire secondary over your's, but Revis is better than any one CB we have.
