Default Does anyone think this guy Ryan Gomes would look good in Green?

I'm not sure if Minnesota would let him go as he's a restricted free agent, but given who else is out there as role players, Gomes strikes me as someone who could help the team....

He can score off the bench, and he's good for more than a few rebounds in the time he plays

I wonder if there's a way to sweeten the pot with Minnesota, offering them a 2nd round future pick in return for letting him sign here

I agree - he'd be perfect for the C's right now. It'd be tough to pry him from Minnesota - I think he shares the same universal appreciation there as he did here. If I were Danny, I'd make a concerted effort to try and get him though. The fact that he can play the 3 or the 4 and as you point out is a great rebounder, that'd be a great pickup if we could somehow get him back.

I'd have to think they could reach some agreement. He's a great fit here and maybe a few 2nd rounders could get him here.

I mean he wouldn't command a 1st round pick, but in terms of value to the Celtics I think he's exactly what we need to replace Posey.

i thought he was restricted meaning the wilves ahve the right to match. they don't want to give him the midlevel exception. the celts could give him the midlevel.

He is a RFA - but the rumor is that the Celts don't want to offer him the MLE - which I think is short sighted.

I think the Wolves would match if the Celts offered the MLE - but I still wonder if there's any way we could work a deal where they'd let us sign him for an extra 2nd round pick or two.

But I guess they have to weigh that with someone like Matt Barnes who has more upside and might come cheaper.

I'd love to see Gomes come back. He'd be a solid role player
