Default Celtics Game 4 = David Tyree Catch

Sorry if this brings back bad memories but last night's Celtics come back win was the equivalent of Eli Manning's escape and David Tyree's helmet catch. Both had demoralizing effects on the opposing team. I now know what it must have felt like to have been a Giants fan. The only difference is that one play clinched the Super Bowl and the Celtics still have to close out the series.

I don't think it's that much alike. The Tyree play was one freak play that led to a much inferior team winning the Super Bowl. The Celtics 2nd half was no more or less freakish than the Lakers first half. And if anything, the Celtics - by beating the Lakers 5 out of 6 times so far this season and convincingly showing they can control the Lakers on both ends of the floor - likely consider that first half of the game pretty freakish. The better team won last nite. That didn't happen with the Tyree catch.

Can't say I agree.

On The Line (Pats)
19-0 / Perfection
Undisputed right to become the greatest NFL team of all-time.

On The Line (Lakers)
A very important game 4.
A chance to tie up the series 2-2 with one more game at home.

Edge: Pats

The impossible (Giants)
An 86 yard come from behind drive by Eli Manning
-The escape, Tyree and Burres catching the winning TD all by himself.

The impossible (Celtics)
A 24 point comeback.
-21 after one, 18 at the half, and 20 in the third.

Edge: Due to the opposing team, I'm going to have to go with the Giants.

Odds (Celtics)
Best regular season record in the NBA
4-1 against the Lakers prior to game
On the road / LA undefeated during playoffs

Odds (Giants)
10-6 wild card team against 18-0 powerhouse
-Lost @ home against Pats week 16
Lead leader in INTs vs. league MVP

Tougher: Giants

Final result (Patriots)
4th Super Bowl championship = Gone
Becoming the greatest team of all-time = Gone
18-1 becoming one of the biggest punchlines in sports

Final result (Lakers)
Face nearly impossible task of coming back down 3-1 (Never done before)
Kobe's legacy takes major hit / Comparisons to Jordan hault

Worse: Pats

Naw, a better example would be the Red Sox coming from 0-3 down to beat the f'ing Yankees in the playoffs.
