This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

And I think I heard of one yesterday where a team tied the score (Carolina maybe) and one of the players got a penalty on the tying score so the kicker was forced to kick a 40 yard extra point for the game-winner, which he missed. Atlanta won in OT in a game where the winner would take over 1st place in the division.
Turns out that was an incorrect call because the player was stepping out of the end zone when he pulled his helmet off, thus technically not on the field of play, but I can see how/why the ref made the call. It was definitely a "look at me" move, which is what the rule is trying to prevent, and I believe it can't be reviewed.

I expect Mac to get his sea legs back next week against Indy.

It's been a weird year for the offense. Thornton misses the first 5 games on a semi-dirty hit. Mac goes down at the end of game 3 on a dirty hit. Andrews goes down last week on a very dirty hit. We also lost Meyers for the Baltimore and GB games, and Montgomery has been out since Miami. There were new offensive coaches and changes to the offense to adjust to. We looked explosive in the Ravens game when Parker went off, then Mac misses a month.

But I think the #1 factor for their choppy play was swapping the LT and RT. Neither guy has played as well as they did last year.
What? Those weren't even close to dirty hits. The hit on Andrews definitely was and it makes me nervous Strange had his worst game without Andrews next to him.

I thought both were dirty. On Mac's hit, his ankle twisted as the defender was bringing his weight down on him, though he released before landing on him.

Thornton was piled on after the whistle by multiple players.

It was pretty clear Carolina was out to hurt people just because of the practices

I mean, we don't even know what's going on with Kristian Wilkerson's career at this point

Because Zappy has out-played Mac (though in an admittedly small sample size)?
Jones has regressed precipitously, with a terrible attitude since camp.

I don't remember even babies like Elway feeling confused or constrained by an OC or game plan, or if they were they didn't use it as an excuse.

Any quarterback, drafted in the first or sixth round, who implies that he must be coddled or pampered (as many were and are) is simply not fit to hold the position.

His press conferences are unlistenable. I understand we were spoiled by Grogan and Brady, but I have no tolerance for dead end, expensive, wasteful Eason projects.

I won't believe Zappe can't play until I see it. I'll tell you right now he's better than Rob Johnson or Marc Wilson.

Maybe Jim Harbaugh was stupid to go with Kaepernick, but they made the Super Bowl and then the NFCCG.

To each his own but I thought Campbell looked to be trying to avoid a flag and twisted an unnatural way to avoid the bodyweight on the QB call. Either way screw the Ravens. As for Wilkerson I feel bad for that kid. He had that game against Jacksonville last year that showed he could at least play a few snaps in the league then got cheap shotted in a preseason game. Hope he rebounds and doesn't suffer any long term issues.

Which interviews are you referring to? I'd love to take a listen I honestly haven't watched much pre/post game stuff this year for various reasons.

vs the Browns

Lamar Jackson 9 for 16 120 yards
Justin Herbert 22 for 34 228 yards 1 TD
Joe Burrow 25 for 35 232 yards 2 TD 1 INT

Bailey Zappe 24 for 34 309 yards 2 TD

Zappe doing better against that "bad defense" than guys people had as their picks for MVP this year.

Droning on endlessly about how 'this is a process' and 'we're all working together' 'we're on the same page'

There is a major difference between acknowledging this is a team effort, and just deferring to everyone and everything with no determination to win games, whatever it takes, whatever the circumstances are.

Doug Flutie and Steve Grogan said the right things. But you could feel and see the burning desire to compete and win. It doesn't matter he was drafted in the first round and paid a fortune. Starting Eason was stupid, in the context of winning.

Robert and Jonathan and whoever blather on about how this is 'Mac's team'...if it really was, there would be no need for blathering.

Zappe may be a complete idiot, but he's doing naturally what a quarterback needs to do. So did Flutie, but it obviously never mattered in the NFL.

Didn't Brady kind of blather on about nothing as well?

As I said, acknowledging the fact that this is indeed a team effort...in the context of I am succeeding making the most of what WE'VE got

as opposed to 'I can only do so much with what I'm working with'

polar opposite (Yeah, I know, Tom was unhappy the last couple seasons here, but that was after 18 years)

Jones' attitude is the opposite of the rookie kid

But because he's a rookie kid, Coach is giving him the Jonas Gray treatment.

This is another underdiscussed why Belichick likes his low round picks. They are more "grateful" and "happy to be here" than the 1st round picks who have more leverage and a larger ego.

Low round picks won't talk back or question him.

We've gotten a ton of mileage out of low rounders and guys nobody else wanted. They do often bust it much harder to make it.

Mac Sunshine. I like it. Has a ring to it.
