I assume that we're all just indulging ourselves to ease the pain, right? Some idiot who sounds like a 16 year old tweets that the Browns'd have to give us "at least" #6 for Mallett, but then tweets that he has "no clue" what else they'd have to give...and I'm seeing 800 Mocks based on that Crack Fantasy??? Love it!! :rocker:

Has it come to this? Off the Grid preaching moderation and restraint to the rest of us? Say it aint so, Brother, say it aint so!

As for myself, my "draft" has just come to pass with the Armond Armstead signing. I'm very content that we've added that potential dominant line player that I wanted. There are a lot of good players in this draft, and a lot of directions that we could go in, so I'm pretty happy at this point to let things play out. But it's fun to mess around.

It's End of Days!! The Mayans were right!! :scream:

For the record, Gents, I wasn't being sarcastic: I DO love it!!

can i get some love for desmond trufant out of washington, khaseem green from rutgers, aurthur brown from kansas state, corey lemonier from auburn

I like to wait until the combine to make up my minds on the cornerbacks. Not many 4.55 guys make it. Like to see how they run the 40 and can turn and run in their drills.

well i can tell you this i just started checking out trufant tonight. if your 4.55 comment is about trufant. i thought he was 4.45. after reading up on thiskid and seeing some highlights and having a very good opinion of him, i said to myself, well let me look at marqise lee stats for every game this year because marqise lee is what i believe to be nfl ready right now and even being an irish fan, thought should have won the heisman.
Marqise Lee Game By Game Stats and Performance - USC Trojans - ESPN
he had one bad game, one, and it was against washington.
now read this Desmond Trufant says tussles with Marqise Lee all healthy competition | _FROM OLYMPIAN - The News Tribune obviously film will need to be watched to see where he was on every play because im sure he wasnt on lee on every play and of course there are 5000000 other reasons film has to be watched

No, the 4.55 wasn't about him. I just like to wait and see how they're running. Can't be that powerful sprint for a cb. Has to be a smooth, gliding runner who can have a change of direction.

exactly! no corners with stiff hips. like amerson and rhodes

i dont think we need that many cb's and s

Let's see. Talib, Arrington, Cole could all be gone, in fact every Corner could be gone expect for Dennard and Dowling. Do we think Dowling can play a full season? Even if Arrington came back it's clear he is useless anywhere but the nickleback position.

I have two guys that could play either S or CB because Chung is gone, will Wilson be ready to be the guy? Because Gregory isn't a starting safety he is good for depth but the Pats can't depend on him to be the #2 safety for the whole season. Short of Matt Elam being there at #29 or they draft someone that just comes in beats Wilson and Gregory in the preseason I expect Wilson to come out of preseason as the #2. Which leaves you with just Gregory if McCourty or Wilson were to go down. Ebner is not even an option and won't be for probably another season or two.

Pats have had a trend these last few drafts. '10 reloaded at the TE position, now when healthy arguably the best tight end play in the league. '11 reloaded at the RB position, now it's one of the best in the league. '12 added to the front 7, it's definitely on the upward trend especially if Armstead comes in and contributes.

Now the question is do they reload the Wide Receiver position or the Secondary? Drafting a tall psychical receiver like Da'Rick Rodgers or someone similar and a free agent for arguments sake like Brandon Gibbons pretty much does that, especially if Welker or Edelman are resigned.

Which leaves the secondary the big question mark this off-season. Who will be back? If Talib is resigned can they count on him the whole season? His history says no. Only have to look to the AFCC game to show what could happen if he is to go down. Right now would be the perfect time to try and reload on the secondary and get some depth, while still having the core intact if they were to resign Talib. Someone like McFadden, Poyer or Amerson would be an upgrade over Arrington even with it being their first season. Look at Dennard, dude came in and when given the chance went and outplayed Arrington.

Let me tell you a story, Grid.

When I was a boy my father took my brother and I on a hunting safari in Botswana. Our guides name was Mothudi, which in Tswana means blacksmith. We left the camp early in the morning and drove around for hours until we finally saw an adult antelope. We got out of the jeep, then slowly and quietly moved towards it until we were in range. We were maybe 150 meters away when we stopped. Mothudi handed me the rifle.

I raised the rifle and looked down the scope. I focused the crosshairs onto the antelope and slowly moved my finger onto the trigger. Stop! Stop! Mothudi said. I lowered the rifle, and Mothudi pointed out an adult cheetah that was stalking the antelope from behind.

The cheetah was so stealthy it took us a bit to see it. Then out of nowhere a huge male lion ambushed the cheetah! The cheetah tried to escape but the lion’s claws were embedded too deep. The cheetah turned and let out a raspy high-pitched squeal as the lion pinned it to the ground. I remember the squeal like it was yesterday.

The cheetah tried to scratch at the lion’s face. The lion had none of it and swatted the cheetah’s paws away like they were a kitten’s. The lion grabbed the cheetah by the neck and clamped his jaws onto the cheetah’s head. The next sound I remember even more vividly. It sounded like someone was snapping a dozen sticks over their knee. It was the sound of the cheetah’s skull getting crushed.

It was the most impressive display of dominance I’ve ever seen. Even the antelope stopped to watch.

That's that I want it too look like when the Patriots play. The Patriots are the lion, the opponent is the cheetah, the desperate squeal is the Ravens, and the rest of the NFL is the antelope thanking its antelope god that it's not the cheetah.

The quickest way to become the lion is to trade Mallett to Cleveland for the 6th pick, and then trade that to St. Louis for 16 and 22.

very good points Jmc i think 3 cbs/s would be fine but its your mock i waant matt elam for safety tyrann mathieu in the 7th and a couple others i actually said in another thread that we should double up with cb's in the 7th round and btw maybe talib will get hurt for one half and dowling will get hurt for the other haha

Uh....OK.

Wouldn't the Browns have to be willing to part with #6 for that to happen?

*By the way, Brother Knot: What's the Scorched Earth bit? I actually used the term in a Private Message to Brother Mayo, yesterday, and was then startled to see you using it as an HeadLine when I hit this Forum...

Except I couldn't find any Scorched Earth element to it: Looks like you're keeping all the major Players.

Is it just a Thing you do? Serious question.

Cool story, but how exactly was Mike Lombardi involved? Was he actually the guide who stopped you from shooting the antelope so that the lion could have a clear shot at the cheetah? And wouldn't the lion get like a big time suspension for that kind of unprotected blow to the head?
