I've soured on Sawyer lol

I just don't think he's nearly as explosive. Let the Lions have him lol That will serve him right to have to play in Michigan lmao
He isn't but I think he fits the Vrabel mentality. We'd probably need to add a specialist pass rusher if we drafted Sawyer so on passing downs we'd have:

Sawyer - Barmore - White - Specialist pass rusher

Whilst on normal downs:

White - DT - Barmore - Sawyer

Sorta reminds of what we tried with that Wolverine with the long blonde hair who's name escapes me lol

Escapes me too. Sawyer is bigger I think and more effective as an edge setter.

This is an idea I've been playing around with.

Scenario:

1. Abdul Carter is off the board at 4 but Travis Hunter is still available.
2. A team wants to trade up for Hunter and is prepared to give up a 2nd rounder.
3. Rather than trading down for a LT, we trade down for one of the following: Mike Green, Shemar Stewart, Walter Nolen
4. With the additional 2nd rounder we draft Aireontay Ersery
5. Leaving 38 free to draft another position.

You can't just say that a team is offering their 2. How far back would the Pats be moving? 3 spots? 6 spots?

If it's Vegas, I do it in a heartbeart.
If it's the Panthers, again, in a heartbeat.
If it's the Jets, I tell them to F**K OFF.

To a place where Green, Stewart and Nolen were still available. I suggested 10-14. The position wasn't that important, I was just interested in a scenario where we trade back for a position other than LT.

We're worried about the Jets now? Haha I say let them have Shaduer and all the baggage his father will bring.

DB: this a family forum.

No I wouldn’t do it.

To move down to 10-14 I think you need to be looking at a trade like the Texans did for Anderson. I think they moved from 12 to 3 for a blue chip non-QB. They gave up 12, 33 and a future 1st and got back a 4th. We’d need something similar given Hunter is the best player in the draft (even if I don’t think he’s exactly what we need)

I said no, but If Hunter really wants to be a wr/cb I would have to rethink long and hard at that question again.

The only way I trade back for a position other than LT is if they've signed Alaric Jackson. Though I'm expecting Jackson to get tagged by the Rams..

So Green, Ersey and we still have 38 for a WR? Sure.

I'm over moving around the board picking up value. I want the best player available in each round, not a stack of $1 lottery tickets.

And, for the love of god, stop using the word "whilst" when "while" would suffice.

""While" and "whilst" are interchangeable in the UK but not in the US. If you're American, use "while.""

So as a British person, let me respond in the way only us Brits can

It's hard to find a team that's the issue.

Carolina doesn't have a 2nd

Indy would need to give up a haul to move that far.

Perhaps New Orleans for 9, 40 and 71 would do it?
I like that package. Plus New Orleans has a history of overpaying to trade up.

Ditka ain't walking through that door. Whilst I would love to get a haul of picks I'm also realistic that it takes 2 to tango.

Don't overthink it. Always pick BPA when drafting. Stay at #4 and draft the blue chip prospect Hunter.

We tried the trade down for need thingy last year. Ended up with Polk and Baker. If the Pats didn't learn their lesson, God help us.

I just posted a similar, if imperfect trade on Reddit, and it is getting slammed for obvious reasons...but the theory is if there are only 2 Blue Chips and 10 1st round graded players like some FO supposedly think, a small trade down basically takes out out of 1st round talent and doesn't net much. Why not trade as far back as possible, still get about the same type of talent but more of it, or '26 picks that maybe in a better class.

I think Hunter is the only one that maybe available at 4 that might be worth someone trading up for....the QBs aren't great, if Carter is there we should take him. If Hunter and Carter is gone, the next group of players are a step or two down. So see about trading the pick to someone in the back third of the first. Lots of teams need a CB1, and with a more talented roster getting Hunter touches as a gadget Offensive player would be acceptable.

I think this list is correct, both for CB needs, and 2nd round picks avaialble:

The Jimmy Johnson chart would be #4 worth #30, #56, #62 and a '26 2nd. Now maybe the Bills want to change one of the '25 2nds to a '26 1st. Is it enough value to basically punt on the 1st this year?

Of course you can say no one will trade up to #4 for a CB...but if he is the #1 or #2 player in the class?
