This is an idea I've been playing around with.

Scenario:

1. Abdul Carter is off the board at 4 but Travis Hunter is still available.
2. A team wants to trade up for Hunter and is prepared to give up a 2nd rounder.
3. Rather than trading down for a LT, we trade down for one of the following: Mike Green, Shemar Stewart, Walter Nolen
4. With the additional 2nd rounder we draft Aireontay Ersery
5. Leaving 38 free to draft another position.

God bless you for including RLKAG.

The players that you’re listing seem like a drop worth far more than a single second rounder. How far down are you envisioning here? I’m probably picking OSU OT Simmons in lieu of any of the three listed here and focus on elsewhere with both second rounders.

I wouldn’t just because this team needs all the talent it can get. Plus Hunter and Gonzo would be pretty fun to watch.

It's hard to find a team that's the issue.

Carolina doesn't have a 2nd

Indy would need to give up a haul to move that far.

Perhaps New Orleans for 9, 40 and 71 would do it?

I'm thinking down to between 10 and 14.

The way I see it, Nolen is a slight step down from Graham and Green is a slight step down from Carter whilst I think Stewart could end up being the best defensive lineman in this draft not named Carter or Graham. As for the trade value, I just came up with something off the cuff.

In that area, I’m definitely looking online in terms of Cambell, banks, Simmons, etc. O-line is crucial for us but, unfortunately, it seems the value isn’t there at 4. Trading down, picking up some extra capital, and being able to get a solid lineman there sounds perfect.

Hunter is going 1 or 2 Tennessee is giving Will Levis one more chance. Cleveland and Watson with that Contract till death do they part. manman we have to hope Shedeur Sanders wows some Team.

I think Aireontay Ersery goes in the First Round he already showed he belongs.

I'm not so sure although it could be between him and Donovan Jackson. We also need to know about Josh Simmons' injury.

Huge fan of Josh Simmons: and would Trade up to the Top of the Second to get him. Most Mocks have him still going in the First: which have me shaking my head because of his injury.

Ignoring his injury, he's my OT1.

I really like Jackson as a LT. I think he is a better LG but he is a good LT. When Simmons went down and Jackson stepped in he looked like a longtime LT to me.

Which is why I think it's a fairly safe pick. If he doesn't work out at LT, you've still got a LG. He might be my LT3 however (need to do more on Banks and Conerly).

I am very mixed on Banks, he seems to lunge a lot to me. I am interested in your opinion when you get to him.

It would be cool to get Simmons in the 1st after a trade down and Jackson in the 2nd. They are very good at switches on stunts and that was quite an issue last year.

Are you suggesting trading-down into the 20s? Because that's where all of Green, Stewart & Nolan might end-up being taken...

And if a trade like that is made, here's one suggestion for #38: Jack Sawyer.

I'm thinking 10-14 where I think all three will be in range of. Sawyer would be a really good fit for Vrabel.

I've soured on Sawyer lol

I just don't think he's nearly as explosive. Let the Lions have him lol That will serve him right to have to play in Michigan lmao

The Senior Bowl is fresh and showing the value of tackles is the second round. We won't have any idea how they are really seen until the Combine. There are more standouts than we first thought. If Hunter is there at 4, the haul for him has to be sizable if I am trading down. He and Carter are the only blue chip players in this draft. I don't care which one we take. I would draft for BPA over need at that point. I would rather take the gamble on the possibility of a future hall of famer than just a solid guy 10 picks down.

I believe one of the biggest mistakes we made last year was praying the draft would fill our needs. There were many reasons for this. Players don't want to come here. We didn't have a proven QB to play with. Mayo was arrogant and unimpressive. The coaches had no outside connections to other players. Eliot made rookie mistakes. They felt the o-line would be fine rather than looking at reality. They thought LT and RT are interchangeable for all tackles. I am sure there are more, but you get the point.

The first priority is filling out the 53 in free agency no matter what it takes. Money is not the issue. We have to get starters in place. The draft is for backups with the opportunity for them to break into the starting lineup in training camp. We cannot fix this year's team with the draft. We need a few great drafts and multiple great free agencies. There are just too many holes.
