Would you trade the Pats 2026 extra 4th round pick (from Chicago) to Seattle for RB Kenneth Walker?

The Pats need someone for this year. There is no guarantee that anyone they would trade for would be anything more than a short one year rental. Kamara is the best one year rental you are going to get at the position assuming he is available (which I think he might if the Pats beat the Saints this weekend).
Kamara fit the immediate need. He's still an explosive and productive RB. He fits the offense as he is both a quality runner and receiver. I think he'd be cheap because of the Saints cap situation. They'd get cap relief and a 3rd day pick for a guy who, at his age, isn't in their future. And while he might not be in our "future" either, we have the cap space to absorb this years' hit, and he'll be a great fit for THIS year's team. Move him after the season if you deem him to be too old. But he's the "right now" best fit of those guys that are being talked about.

The Patriots need to replace Gibson THIS YEAR. They aren't trading for a RB for the future. That would be a waste because RBs are easy to pick up in the offseason either through the draft or free agency. They aren't in high demand anymore.

And the Pats are in the playoff hunt. The Saints are in the hunt for the #1 overall pick. The Pats have their franchise QB who is playing like a top 5 QB. The Saints have Spencer Rattler. They are nothing alike.
I'm not giving up a premium draft pick to clinch the 6 seed in 2025.

For a 5th? I'd probably do it.

For a 2nd? No.

Who said it would be a premium draft pick. Kamara's age and contract will lower his asking price. You might be able to get him for less than what it would take to get Walker. The Saints aren't probably getting more than a 4th rounder for a 30 year old RB. Even a RB of Kamara's quality. Not for a half of a season.

What makes you think it would take a "premium pick" to get Kamara. He's old, makes a lot of money for a RB, and plays on a team that's playing for a top 10 draft pick next April and are in DESPERATE need of cap relief. A 5th might be too high IMHO and I think the Saints would JUMP at a fifth and might throw in a 6th or 7th to boot.

If that's the trade, I'd do it.
I think the Saints are a dumb organization, and would overvalue a Kamara, and undervalue like, a Rashid Shaheed, for example.

Lol What? Why would a 3-2 team fighting for the division trade a productive, young, and cheap running back?
read the above posts. They will jump at a 4th from us. ROFL

Seattle is fighting for a playoff birth, I highly doubt they would want to trade Walker. A lot of teams rotate RBs and if they trade him it weakens their chances at the playoffs. I don’t see them trading him.

Kamara I could see, but not Walker.

Draft capital: you know Teams do it all the time.
How’s their depth? The very reason for this trade shows the importance of depth. If they are fighting for the division whyvwoildvthey thin their depth for a future consideration?

Can we all just play along.

Let's trade for AJBrown, we'll give them a 4th!

You know the Pats are back when we’ve got threads going for trades that other teams would absolutely never ever consider.

Absolutely. As absurd as getting 2007 Randy Moss for a 4th, or trading him away for a 3rd during a SB window.

Not worth discussing.

I could be wrong (usually am) but I don't think their has been any kind of news that the Pats brought anyone in yet for a tryout (although we might not have heard about it). Maybe that means they are working a trade.

Also, if Walker does hit FA for 2026, I would consider making a run at him. I think a 2026 RB room of Henderson/Walker/Stephenson would be very good. Rham probably can't be cut untol 2027 due to his contract, provides good depth. Hopefully at least 1 of Larison/Gibson comes back.

I think Seattle is at least concerned about having a RB2 as we are about having a RB3

No.

We are not a rb2 away from a super bowl run.

Bring up a PS guy, workout guys in FA looking to work, check out other teams practice squads and let Stevenson / Hendo / Jennings(is it still him on PS?) carry the load.

Address it long term in FA/Draft.

The Pats play the Falcons on Nov 2nd. The NFL trade deadline is on Nov 4th. On Nov 3rd they should be calling Atlanta about Tyler Allgeier. He's a stud running back who could be a long-term solution. He's only 25 and he's fairly low mileage because 2 out of 3 years he's been splitting carries with Bijan Robinson. The Falcons can't afford to resign him so he might be available if they're not making the playoffs
