Hearing that he is done in Seattle and we need a power back, I would not give up much for him, because he is gone next year, but could be a really useful rental for the remainder of the year. Let's discuss...

Glazed reported earlier today that Lynch is gone in 2015, and may even get traded before the deadline. I see no reason not to trade a 3rd rounder for Lynch for the rest of the year...can't imagine Seattle would get a much better offer than that. Would really give us that final piece on offense.

To take it one step further, do you think that BB would pay this contract with cap hits of 8 and 8.5 million this year and next? I don't.

Well if he is not on the trading block then the conversation is rather pointless.

Regarding the money, I am sure that we would carry 5/8th of his salary for this year, since we have the cap room for it.

I'm kind of where you are on it. If it means giving up a 3rd round pick for less than half a season of productivity, then I think I'd pass.

I would give up VERY little to get him. I don't believe in paying RBs.

I don't value RBs. But, yes. If it was possible (which I doubt it is) to grab him at a reasonable price, they should.

Those goal line rushes today would be touchdowns. Today, it didn't matter. Next weekend, it will.

I'm not a fan of it, while Lynch is a power back and can def move the chains you need to feed him the ball for him to get going. Our offense doesn't really work like that, especially if Jonas Gray plays like how he did today consistently. Between Gray/Vereen/Lynch I just don't see how Lynch would be worth the price tag. If there is a cheaper option in play here I think you would have to consider it, though.

The big question is how effective he would be with our OL blocking for him compared to the Seahawks OL.

If he is available for a reasonable price, then sure why not. But similar to VJax it would scream 1-year rental to me.

But Gray ran incredibly hard today, and should have gotten even MORE touches.

I understand a lot of reasons not to do this. But I think I would, provided that 1) Lynch was okay being part of a mutli-part backfield and 2) could be counted on to go full beast mode knowing that he's gonna get cut. And actually, the fact that either way (whether he stays or goes in Seattle) this has basically turned into a contract year again for him, I think you can assume he'd go all out. Being on, potentially, the last two SB champs would be good for negotiation I would think.

I don't think that Gray having one good showing is a good enough reason to shun a potential acquisition of any Lynch-caliber RB. Brandon Bolden had a game or two a couple years back where he looked explosive. Not saying Gray is crap, just saying if you have this opportunity, he's not enough of a reason to say no.

But he's not on the block. Which is why you let word leak out of your team HQ that this is his last year with your team 2 days before the trade deadline.
