For the relatively affordable 2 year deal that Jonah Williams got (and he can plat LT or RT and is only 26), I think it was a mistake that they didn't sign him. He would have been better than anyone we currently have at LT and wouldn't have broken the bank. We have a better chance of having a decent right side of the OL at the moment. Not getting Williams really frustrated me. He didn't have to be a long term solution, and if Maye was ready to go as a rookie, the left side and the OL as a whole would have given him better protection. That's just my two cents.Trent is probably slightly ahead but thats splitting hairs. It's definitely between them two any given Sunday.
Darrisaw isn't far behind although there's a small gap imo.
Either way youre not sniffing either without two 1st and 30+ per year.
Agreed he's very much on that level.
I know some would rather wait until the 2025 draft. In a perfect world, sure. That said there's no guarantee that a prospect will be near the level Wirfs was at coming out. Or that we'll be in a position to get him. Next years class looks good but there are real question marks even at the top imo. Campbell is a fine prospect with a few issues but reportedly has 33" arms. We all know how #'s can change (even from the SR Bowl to Combine!) So if they're sub < 33" I could see some teams not buying as a tackle.
Also it'll be interesting to see if Tyron Smith rebounds. Hes a HOF player on his last legs but still top 10 when healthy.
