Wirfs or Darrisaw?

Trent is probably slightly ahead but thats splitting hairs. It's definitely between them two any given Sunday.
Darrisaw isn't far behind although there's a small gap imo.

Either way youre not sniffing either without two 1st and 30+ per year.

Agreed he's very much on that level.

I know some would rather wait until the 2025 draft. In a perfect world, sure. That said there's no guarantee that a prospect will be near the level Wirfs was at coming out. Or that we'll be in a position to get him. Next years class looks good but there are real question marks even at the top imo. Campbell is a fine prospect with a few issues but reportedly has 33" arms. We all know how #'s can change (even from the SR Bowl to Combine!) So if they're sub < 33" I could see some teams not buying as a tackle.

Also it'll be interesting to see if Tyron Smith rebounds. Hes a HOF player on his last legs but still top 10 when healthy.
For the relatively affordable 2 year deal that Jonah Williams got (and he can plat LT or RT and is only 26), I think it was a mistake that they didn't sign him. He would have been better than anyone we currently have at LT and wouldn't have broken the bank. We have a better chance of having a decent right side of the OL at the moment. Not getting Williams really frustrated me. He didn't have to be a long term solution, and if Maye was ready to go as a rookie, the left side and the OL as a whole would have given him better protection. That's just my two cents.

I would take either Wirfs or Darrisaw, and I would pay them top of league OT money.
I would also trade 2 #1's. they are both young enough and fit into the timeline of Maye.

I would wait until the next draft and take the best OT with their first pick.

Here is a very scary thing for all of us to realize about the OL this year.

Which OL do you have more faith in?

Trent Brown -- Cole Strange -- David Andrews -- Sidy Sow -- Mike Onwenu

or

Chuky Okorafor -- Sidy Sow -- David Andrews -- Mike Onwenu -- Caeden Wallace?

I would wait until the next draft and take the best OT with their first pick.
I would as well, and believe the Pats would if presented with that opportunity.
but getting a player like the 2 mentioned in their prime does not come around often. Teams would be wise to jump on the opportunity

BS
this is what winning teams do
WIrfs or Darrisaw are proven OT's and can come in on day 1 and play at an all pro level
there is no guarantee where the Pats will pick next year, nor who will be available and if they will pan out, and how long it would take to pan out.
There will almost certainly be a starting tackle in next years draft when they pick, there were two in the second round this offseason and that was after they traded down... they just didn't commit to one.

Winning teams don't pay twice for the same player... they wait for said player to hit free agency and pay them, or they draft them. Loser teams take the road you're promoting.

Again... you're the worst lazyboy recliner GM in New England sport's forum history.

Tunsil, Trent Williams, Joe Thuney are waving hello to you from the playoffs

Tunsil was traded to the Texans... they still sucked and were a loser franchise. Then he was traded to the Dolphins, who also traded for and paid Tyreek... they got bounced in the wild card round. I thought we were talking about winning franchises?

Thuney was a free agent, he wasn't traded.

Trent Williams was traded for a 5th round pick and a 3rd two year later, you were talking about trading multiple first round picks above. He was traded for peanuts because Washington simply couldn't afford him, that cap thing you say doesn't exist, and because the cost to the 49ers was minimal.

I was very specific above, trading a middle/late round pick is reasonable... you suggested two #1's... laughable.
