Who were the Patriots 4th and 5th wide receivers last year?

I would just like to point out that they had the 7th best offense in points scored in 2006 with our wr1 = reche caldwell, and our wr2 = doug gabriel, who we had picked up from oakland that year + subsequently cut in december.
our te threat was ben watson

But right now there IS no JE11 and LaFell.

Praying JE11 can be active. He hasn't been the last 2 weeks.

As I said, I don't think they crucially need JE11 for Pittsburgh, but they certainly do for Buffalo if they think they don't need a 5th or 6th WR.
JE11 is fine. He's tweeting and doing workout videos.

As of right now, Dobson is our #2 WR.
No! It's JE11 and DA.

Gronk and Chandler are your other options.

Dobson is your 5th option in the offense.

Why is it bad for BUF? B/C they need to spread them out?

Both of those team's secondaries are brutal. Brady should do fine.

Pittsburgh yes.

But to attack Buffalo, which is arguably expected to be the best defense in the NFL this year, Brady will need as many options as possible. If JE11 is not ready, how good do you feel going into that ROAD game with Dobson and Harper as the #2 and #3 WR's?

Personally, I think BUF's D is overrated. I think Rex Ryan and his defensive genius is overrated as well.

Again, Je11 and DA are your 1 and 2. Dobson and Harper are 3 and 4. With that said, Gronk and Chandler will be out there most of the game so I'm not concerned about that particular issue at WR.

With that said, divisional games are a pain in the neck.

Buffalo on the road is going to be a very tough game in week 2. Rex will have that entire city in a frenzy - it will be their one and only chance for some national attention and they will throw the kitchen sink at the Patriots. I'm not sure BB rates their defense as lightly as you do.

I also hope your confidence that all is fine with JE11's injury is correct. You are making an assumption there. I simply do not have the inside info on it that you may have.

No. right now JE11 is a question mark for Thursday. If he's good to go, then fine.

Why is depth such a bad thing, btw?
You can't be stacked with depth everywhere. Look at the Pats. They are loaded with depth at OL, DE, DT, S, TE and RB.

That tells you right there the philosophy of BB.

IMO the Pats look at the receiver position as a heterogeneous thing. They care about the player that can get "somewhere". Inside, outside, seam, deep, outside the hash, etc. They have preferences on body type and speed but ultimately they care about players who get open and catch the ball. If its a bunch of TEs and a couple of WRs so be it. Thats what makes them so fascinating. They are so unconventional.

I heard JE11 tweaked a thigh. Hes fine. They are being VERY protective of him.

Yes- I do think the BUF game won't be a pushover. While Rex might have them fired up, the Pats D is no pushover and BUF's Qb situation is horrific. That puts a big-time strain on any defense.

Didn't Dobson get IR'ed? I thought it was Boyce and Tyms? But then Boyce got IR'ed too, right? So there was no 6th receiver on the Super Bowl team? Because Slater was #5?

dobson had 3 catches, then got IR'd. I think Boyce was on the PS all year. No catches, anyway, according to pro football ref.
